5/6/22 Friday [Training 49]
Barbell curls
65 x 10,10,10

Deadlift

Notes
For those counting at home, I went 405/255/440 on the s/b/d top singles this week, which is roughly 500kg. I'm two weeks out now, and I'm thinking of doing 185/115/200 on my second attempts, hoping for a few more kilos on my final attempts.

Sounds good. Drill the commands a lot over the next 2 weeks. That is the hardest thing for a first meet.

Back at the gym at 5:15am, but this was good. I did all reps while adhering to the imaginary commands in my head. I think it worked pretty well. Thanks for that tip, John!

Also, there was some Bro Mirin going on during that top squat single.

@alek Don't sweat it. Deadlift is volatile. The strength will be there on meet day. I would suggest not touching deadlift again until then.

Thanks, man!

For my session, weigh-in is from 1pm to 3pm. I was 193.6 this morning, so I bet I’ll be under 198 at 1pm.

Hah! I hadn’t seen that. I win my division/weightclass by default!

@alek Know that it is normal to be nervous, especially before your first meet. However, also know that the nerves calm considerably after the 1st attempt on squat.

Thanks, John! Right now, I'm more nervous about deadlift than either squat or bench.
