ME Axle Deadlift
635x1x3, 495x6x3

Pull Ups
BW+25x5x3

Time seemed to get away from me today. Hit some singles with what I'm thinking will be my axle opener... some light backoffs... some pulls ups because I was too tired/lazy to do anything else and it was rainy out...

Log Press
265x1x3, 225x3 (strict)

CGB
135x8x3, 185x12

OH Tricep Ext
20x3 double black

Meh morning. Didn't have much of a plan other than hitting log opener for some singles. Shoulder was once again bothering me. Seems to be highly dependent on how I sleep. Whole upper back/neck is tight and shitty lately.

Anyway, hit my singles, decided to test some strict log and got disenchanted by my lack of power lol. Started testing some waters with close grip. It's obviously stupid light, but they didn't bother me and I would like to incorporate CGB in this AtS programming I want to run vs the JMs and stuff I've been doing now.

Can I ask a stupid Strongman question?

If youre using straps is deadlifting an axle any different than deadlifting a regular barbell?

Hahaha any and all stupid questions welcome...

So yeah, the 'easy' answer is the complete lack of any whip at all so you're getting 100% of the weight right off the ground... the next answer is that the bar is so thick it puts the weight slightly forward versus a regular barbell... so it's a little harder there to...

The part not enough people consider in my opinion? The fact that lots of axles out there are DIY, and that means a few things.

Rogue has a (presumably nice) powder coat, mine is sprayed with bedliner paint, and the gym I occasionally train(ed) at had an axle that is basically polished steel haha. If the finish is particularly 'sticky' it can mess with you because if it gets stuck on your thighs it can be tougher to hitch. There's no sleeves so the plates are either gonna not roll or move with the bar on your legs.

To a lesser extent but worth mentioning is it can be tough to find center on an axle if your used to nice perfectly symmetrical rings on barbells... if somebody marked the bar at all haha.

To be faaaaiiiirrrrrr there was still so much work to do as well

Personally im starting to hope it's totalled. Friend I have at the shop who took the pics seems confident it is. It needs a new oil pan and gasket, new shocks, and last time I was under there I'm pretty sure one of the tranny cooler lines is leaking... so I mean... just give me a reason to go find a shitbox pickup lol

It's contest week, and normally I'd be sitting on my ass, but I always get really bad adductor DOMs the week coming back so I'm trying just doing some light sets today. Started on a straight bar but it was hurting the shoulder. I think ~240-270 will be an OK starting point next week as I want to do all of this beltless...

Maybe some VERY light BW or 'mobility' stuff Thursday?

STATIC MONSTERS 2020
Undisclosed Location, WNY (hahaha)

Max Log Press
265x1, 280x1, 290x0

Max 16" Axle Deadlift
635x1, 675x1, 700x1, 720x1 (unofficial)

What a morning hahaha. Log went as expected, didn't feel great, didn't feel super strong. First two attempts were conservative but super clean. Third attempt was 99% there haha, my elbows actually locked in the video but I got off balance and didnt recover enough for a down. Oh well, no biggie. Deadlift felt surprisingly awesome. My dude Tim and I were basically duking it out. We both got 700 for our third and decided to bump up to 720 for an unofficial attempt, he missed but I got it with a little in the tank. Super cool! Might not have counted on the total but I'll take a PR haha...

Oh man... that was tough haha. Trying to keep rest times around 2 minutes (3 max) and holy crap... totally gassed. Hope I adapt to this crap by the end of the week because man... I was wiped out for like half an hour. Might keep the last accessory to 3 sets, and add in 4th accessories next week...

Well I'm not as wiped out as I was yesterday... perhaps that's a good thing? Squats had to start lighter than planned, my legs were beat up feeling and 12's fucking gas me by like rep 8 lol

Static Monsters results are being posted over the next few days and as of right now I have the 110th strongest log press in the world according to it... so I guess you can say I'm kind of a big deal hahaha...

They released deadlift results today and I ranked in almost the exact same spot (109) haha, total rankings are tomorrow I believe... I'd very much like to improve these numbers next year...

One of our lifters from Buffalo ranked #4 on log yesterday for the u72.5 women... that was pretty cool...

Mercyful hell... I know I shouldn't be adjusting SO much out of the gate but shit dude, I don't tolerate high rep deadlifts well (especially sets across). Still feeling beat up from DOMS... just trying to go forward and adjust...

For now axle is out of the rack, push press, focus on popping the heels... eventually I'll move them to a clean and press... haven't done a density block in a while and kind of forgot I should leave more than a rep or two in the tank out of the gate lol

Ad libbed a t bar attachment from my drag sled and it works AWESOME... I'd rather it be parallel but whatevs... cool...
