I redid my rack again, back to diagonal. I want a new rack. And a new basement for my new rack.

MMMc3w3d5

Press, kneeling, 4 minutes
95x10x4
Work capacity sets suck. 4 minute rests suck.
Skipped BTN press and chins cuz I wasted too much time watching LOTR rifftrax style redoing my rack.

Deadlift, adlib rest
405x4@8? Possibly @7? straps. Rep PR
Briefly considered a 1rm test, but I’ll save it for next block
325x3x2 beltless and DOH didn’t want to do x2x4
SGDL, belt and straps
245x10 @harder than 225 probably add more weight again until I get 8.

Types all of this up and felt guilty about chins
NG chins, 5 min rest
BW(222) x15,10,8
rolling brownouts may have effected gravity today). 15 is a big rep PR, although I’m not sure if I’ve maxed out with ng before)

Maintenance Bench, fat grips
200x45 in 18 minutes
Fat grips because my left thumb is a bit cranky from guitar
Was trying for 200x5x10 e2mom, but had to drop reps after sixth set.
I'll either try the weight again (in two weeks?) or drop the weight 15 pounds

ETA “long” run
Treadmill
3.5 miles in 48:20
Minute walk break at 30 and 45. Was gonna go for at least an hour but I’m tuckered.

Also, no binges today.

New cycle?

-ups/press superset

Wide grip pullups
BW x3x4 done during press warmup

More wide grip pullups
BW +10 x3x7

superset with
press, kneeling
120x3x7

then
NG chin-ups
BW x10,8

superset with
BTN press
95x8,10

Going to help out MiL finish moving and whatnot for the rest of the week, so today will be my last weight session for a bit. Also looks like I may have a chance to sneak off for an overnight hike afterwards.

Stuck in RI

4 miles in 49:26
Went for a jog around a Roger Williams Park.
Got bit/stung by something that still hurts.
Gonna do the heavy moving today.
Also got clearance to go up to NH for a quick hike :excited face:
Also officially signed up for a 2021 Disney half marathon :excited gambler holding a long shot ticket face:

Roger Williams Park
4 miles 50:06
Had a better plan, so less wayfinding and more trails. The trails aren’t tooo rugged, at least compared to the roots and glacial rock fest that’s North Jersey. But it’s more interesting than pavement, and is pretty sweet for just outside my SiL’s house. Yesterday was uhaul day, today is Dump day.

Have you ever gone hiking in the White Mountains in NH? I did a bunch as a kid and would like to do the rest of them one day.

8/17
Mt. Caragain 10ish miles, 7.5 ish hours. Book time is 6:40
16 more to go, in 6 or 7 trips. Kinda want to do Katahdin, Adirondaks, anything out west... but muh OCD
Also, first time hiking without a 4 year old in over a year. sigh.
8/18
so much back pain from moving my MiL, then going on a hike out of nowhere, then spending like way too much time in my small car.
8/19
Naproxen Sodium took care of pain
Squat, daytime with girls in the the gym
235x5
275x1
300x1@7?
235x6,6,5,5,5

after kidbed
jogmill
2.13 miles in 27 minutes

Wide grip pull-up bw x4x10
ss/ press, kneeling
125x3x6, 2 min rest

BTN press
95x9x2
ss/ NG chins
bw x8,9

gotta go back to RI again this weekend, MiL is having a hard time with the move.
Can't wait to get back into the lifting grind.

Last bunch of days has been a whirlwind of poop. Last couple of a weeks, months: whatever

Last Thursday I ran 3 miles and did 50 dips in 10 minutes
Friday morning I warmed up to 215x5 on bench and 315x3 on deadlift, but then I ran out of time before having to leave for RI. We shut down my wife’s childhood house, and are quit of the East Bay experience

Today I jogmilled 2.75 miles in like forever minutes (38:20? I think).
Need to get my sleep and stress game together.

The Whites are awesome; I've never done Caragain though. I tried (and had to bail on at around Mt Adams) a Presidential Traverse in 2012 due to a mid pm thunderstorm above tree line, and I've done Mt Chocorua a couple of times.

Wife and I are heading to VT in a couple of weeks, and we may pop over and do a bit of hiking in the Whites, as she's never been.

Hah! I had a similar experience, although to be honest, I had completely underestimated how slow I would be moving up around Adams. The rocks made slow going. We ended up bailing down the Sphinx trail, which was a super steep waterfall, not a trail. Good times. We’ve since done the Northern Presidentials, then ducked down after Monroe to grab Isolation, then through Boot Spur and Glen Boulder. That stretch was amazing: you’re way above tree line, but because you’re not “bagging a peak” nobody is there. Sweet.

slowly coming back on line...
no program, but trying out some Gnucks linear tnation thing

squat
240x4@8 what?
205x10
190 (shut up)x10
175 (dear me!)x12

Incline Bench (maybe I'll train this up?)
155x5x2
165x5
185x4 @8
165x5x3
all sets bench grip and paused, except last one which in between bench and press width

jogmill
2.26 in 30 minutes

no ideas for a program right now, but I figure high rep squattyness hasn't happened in a while.
I should be able to move 10s up for a couple of weeks.

Probably committing to a variation on that gnuck’s linear doodad.

Press, 4 mins rest
105x12
97.5x12 (tied 1.5# 1# weights to the bar!)
90x12 wanted a couple more. *shrugs*

Curls
55x10,12,10

1 mile jog 11:52 I thought I was sandbagging, but I wasn’t feeling a third lap of the rec field.

Hill sprints x4, 3-4 minutes walking back
:56 .1
:49 .09
:46 .08
:42 .07

1:45 .16 To round a whopping 1.5 miles. The hill sprints took it out of me. No perceptible squat doms from the sets of 10. *more shrugs*

jogmill
3 miles 40:25
while watching (muh boy Willem Dafoe chew all the scenery in) Boondock Saints. Dumb movie. Oddly inappropriate for these times.
Dafoe kills it though.

also
Bench
185x12
170x12
155x13 probably gave up a couple of reps early here, but that's why I'm doing this, so....

incline chest supported row
35s x15,20,18

Tentative Linear Plan

M - Squat, Incline Bench
T - Press, short jog
W - Quality run (alternating tempo/hills)
R - Bench, short jog
F - Deadlift, BTN press
Sa - Long run

Gonna try to do a pull accesory each of the 4 lifting days too.

Late Summer Linear Block isn’t silly enough a name for this block. Maybe VMNM? Very much not Montana method?

LP block w1 d4
BTN press
95x10
87.5x10
80x10. I wanted 12. Perhaps I got 12 and forgot?

Deadlift, straps - SS style rest
365x5 @8.5 Pretty cheesed here.
345x5
325x5

SGDL, straps
255x5 gave up. Kinda cranky here
Wanted to donweighted chins, but feeling pretty defeated
Oh, I got no sleep, didn’t take my nuvigil, and had a couple of beers. maybe...

yesterday
H.E.L.P. w2d1

squat
215x10, 200x10, 185x10 no extra reps.

Incline Bench
150x11, 140x11, 130x13

this took me like an hour. I'm doing this cuz hivemind says high rep sets closer to failure builds work capacity. i feel waaay lazier than when I'm doing hvlf stuff.
cranky elbow said no chins or curls. boo

Today
press, kneeling
110x11 @9.5, 102.5 x11, 95x11 4 min rest

ez curls, 2 min rest
55x15,11,12

jog mill
2.5 miles, 33:20

back to school convocation today. School hasn't even started and I'm behind in paperwork.

H.E.L.P w2d3
Treadmill 440s
1.5 mile slow jog ~20ish minutes
440s x8 on a 4:30 clock
5.5mphx2, 5.6mphx3, 5.7mphx2, 6mphx1
.5 mile slow jog cool down
4 miles in 48:30

Max HR (on 6mph) 161
2 min recovery heart rate( before cool down jog) 110

Gonna keep the speeds consistent, but reduce clock time, maybe on a 4:00 clock next time?

I need to find a 10k to sign up for to get a decent coral for my 2021 half.

100x9@8? lost a rep, mostly on purpose
92.5x9
85x13

Deadlift, straps
345x7@8.5 5 mins rest
325x7 rested 5 minutes loaded the bar for the next set, rested another 5 minutes, then gave up

Lack of sleep? Added stress? Not concerned. Big focus is just moving forward and accumulating run volume.
