Rogue Ohio Deadlift bar vs Texas deadlift bar
Who has experience with both?
I've used the Texas, but don't like the knurling.

I know a guy that has all 4 deadlift bars (TPB, ODB, Okie and Iron Wolfe). Basically, TDB gets most flex. Iron Wolfe is the best built but also 3x the price. ODB is really well built but least flex of them all. Okie is second most flex but built like shit.

Okie bars don't even have bushings... I would avoid them.

We have one of these at my gym. It works pretty well. I haven't tried many other DL bars to really comment though. This bar is a couple of years old and is still going strong. But if some of the other ones are near the same price and higher quality, I would probably go with those.OCG wrote:Okie bars don't even have bushings... I would avoid them.

Ohio Deadlift was in the boneyard. I have one cause why not. I kinda dig it. I should stop using it all the time but saves me moving bars around so whatever

At what sort of weight does whip begin to be noticeable wrt deloading the bottom of the movement?

It really would depend on a number of factors. Non-standard (thicker) plate width, close hand positioning, sumo puller (usually harder out of the bottom), etc. would probably add some sort of advantage. The bar thickness would make it easier to grip as well.Bliss wrote:At what sort of weight does whip begin to be noticeable wrt deloading the bottom of the movement?
But for someone like me (wide hand placement, standard plates at meets, conventional puller that is fast off floor) the bar doesn't do much for me at all. In fact, my biggest pull ever was on a normal power bar. I am also starting to think that my thicker legs, coupled with the aggressive knurling on the bar, is part of the reason it drags even harder at the top.

The Eleiko PL comp bars are pretty nice. My gym has like 15. Just the right amount of spin to them.
