If/when "Olympic lifting" gets kicked from the Olympics for its five thousandth doping offence, will it just be ... "lifting"? I know it's "weightlifting", but that's too broad.

Has there been out of competition testing for him during the ban?

doubt it.
but thats a good question . . .I wonder if he stayed registered in the OOC testing pool.

I mean they went from: He's gonna get a lifetime death penality ban for two Olympic offenses

to

he's only gonna get two years, because that was the rules/time frame back in 2008 . . .and he never got officially notified in 2008 for a "adverse analytical finding" becasue we don't have time machines, and therefore, expostfacto, gobblygook, he gets a pass on the 2012 AAF because maybe he wouldn't had have doped if he knew he had one strike already . . . .blah blah blah. . . . reasons . . . . things . . . .

So its hard to believe they would think they would win** their arbitration case from July 2016 point of view (it looked pretty dire back then).
I thought for sure he'd be toast.

** win = going from likely lifetime ban, to 8 year ban, to 4, to only a 2 year ban.

We will see whose ass is being laughed off when The One raises 275 over his head before the world.

As a Pocket Super (say 120) I think this could happen...he'd be too far behind after the Snatch against a hypothetical Talakhadze but it would make it interesting. 😀

To be fair, it's a little ridiculous to stack retroactive bans. It'd be like giving a hockey player a fighting major for every punch thrown during a fight.

He got caught exactly once. Thus he should be treated as being caught exactly once. WADA's all encompassing horseshit about everything fucking EVER notwithstanding.

He doesn't look like he's training:

#1- HE doesn't look it (his physique, he looks small).

#2- and the actual training, just fucks around with light weights, crossfit camps, etc
(unless they're hiding something, and don't want ot show big lifts, but see #1 above)

----------------------------------------------------------

He is fucked. The options here are:

A- I don't think he'd risk getting popped again. 3 times would be goddamned hilarious.
Especially popped under the Kaz flag again.
Especially with the IOC/IWF on the PED witch hunt like they are.
I wouldn't put it past the IWF to literally pay HIM to sit on the sidelines and do nothing.
.....sorta a reverse bribe. They (iwf) can't afford for him to get popper either.
So then: no drugs, or limited drugs.

B- so if A, his numbers are always going to suck, well, suck at least compared to what he was before.
So then why even lift or make a come back?
It would be pretty incriminating then, when you are only doing 160/210 as a 94.....now.

C- oh yeah . . . an "injury".
Could throw around 230-240 on the IGs again (blasting of course).
Let everyone see he's making a comeback, etc . . .
And then have a career ending "injury". That's what I would do.

Retire putting on camps and clincs, etc.
Come out with a book, programs, etc.
Some new gimicky exercises . . . secret Kazakhstan Assistance Exercise.

definately 'C', yeah

You sneaky bastard! I'm glad you made it here. I wasn't sure how to reach you (I think you stopped posting in the other place before I did), but I missed your musk. How you been?

Ha, had a few months there where I was pretty sick once again but outside of that things have been pretty good Buddy!! I'll stick a Log on over the next few days with a few further details but - long story short - I'm more or less back to square one lifting-wise but loving just being able to train and hopefully post with a little more consistency again. :)

Depending on what competitions he NEEDS to do to qualify for Tokyo I can see him not training "properly" until mid-2019.

Per Insta he's at 165 / 195 at 104.5 and nowhere near full "Fridge" mode yet...

I found his squat jerks amusing...

...I wonder what happens when you've doped your whole life, and you finally can't dope anymore....do your balls even know how to make your own test anymore whatsoever at all?

Unlikely. There are PCT protocols but they don't work for everyone....

I love Ilya but he's going to be the reason the IOC kicks weightlifting out of the Olympics
