@gymdad150 Haha not at all, it’s still good to hear experiences. The more I know the better I’ll be prepared, whenever it is they finally let us compete. Though tbh the powerlifting union soured me when they kept my dues despite cancelling my meet...

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
So I just signed up for a meet in Waco, TX on April 24th. Tight timeline to prep, but I think I will be in pretty good shape. There just no meet planned for Dallas before June, and I wanted to get a meet done before vacations start to mess up my training. I’m hoping to hit S - 227.5, B - 155, D - 272.5.

Have a great meet, John.
Maine State Championship just went official.
Renewed my USAPL membership and registered for the meet this morning.
July 24th
I finalised/projected out my training blocks, and am scheduled to hit a 425 squat and a 475 DL in training.
Squat blocks wrap up June 24th, so 3 weeks peaking training before meet week.
Bench and DL run up to meet week.
Depending on how DL feels, that 475 could become a second attempt and i would YOLO something on my third.
Bench is scheduled to reach 249 end of this block, then i will run the same block but starting at week 4 so it fits the calendar, and to just reenforce that number.
TLDR is base expectation is 192.5/424 112.5/248 215/474
I don't really trust my bench, so depending on how it goes, i would be fine with 110kg, and that would still be a meet best.
So 515 to 520kg total is my conservative /hoped for target.
That would place me #13 all years for M3a 93kg USAPL.
Top 10 is my longer term goal at this point.
#10 is currently 533kg
Really hoping i can open with a 405 squat, well, 402 something kg equivalent.
That would feel really cool to me.
It's a long way off still.

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
Got a meet this Saturday May 15, 2021 in USPA.
Registered in the 75kg class. My previous 5 meets have all been in either the 82.5 or 90kg class so this will be an interesting one for me.
I have to admit that I have not trained for this meet seriously but am approaching it as just a fun time. My next meet will be more focused and serious in hopes to get a Class 1 total at 75kg.
I’ll try to post the results here after the meet.

As of now, i am in flight b session 2.
Session 2 is scheduled to start at 2PM Saturday July 24th
Bench 112.5kg/248lb
DL 215kg/474lb
Was pleased to match my meet best squat after being sick last Saturday
Probably had 190kg in me today.
7.5kg Meet PR on bench
12.5kg Meet PR on DL
So 20kg meet best total PR
I am now officially in the books with 515kg total
First time into the 1,100s
1,135
#14 all years USAPL Masters 3A 93kg raw
535kg total will get me top 10.
Squat is technically a new state record, because first meet as an M3, so i displaced the guy who is 9 years older, but who still benches more than me.
He had surpassed my DL by 2.5 kilos with 205 early in 2020, so i took that state record back, and took back the total record back by 15 kilos.
(Masters records stand in the younger masters classes unless someone has done better than the older lifter)
8 for 9 because i changed my 3rd DL attempt from 220, to 227.5.
I was tired as hell, from travel, bad sleep in the motel room, and just a full day.
Maybe at home on a deadlift only day i would have had it.
It was really cool seeing all those red plates though.
Did get it off the ground.
Next time, red plates, next time.
Popped my cherry on missing a lift in a meet.
I only mildly regret it, and kind of not.
My base goal was met on my 2nd DL, and i think it was a really good meet for me.
Probably doing another in early November.

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
Well, just became aware of openipf.org as compared to openpowerlifting.org for rankings.
Was looking at my rankings using Masters 3a and only USAPL on Open Powerlifting
Open IPF has the full (IPF) Masters 3 class as one (no A or B)
Now if i want top 10 all years in my weight class, i need to add 100lbs to my total in the next ten years.
Squat is top 20 already
Bench is #60 lol
Four way tie at #30 on DL
#23 all years by total Masters 3
Should move up a tick in November.
Back at it today after a week off post meet.
Not disappointed, it's good to have a better yardstick to measure by.
Started lifting at 55, so still young in training age.

Re: Powerlifting Meets/Results
9 for 9. 27 whites.
Did exactly what i planed on all attempt.
meet best squat and bench, meet best and all time PR DL (222.5kg)
527.5 kg total.
#11 all years USAPL Masters 3a ~ 93kg.
Did get drug tested, so hopefully a multivitamin doesn't make me pop.
New state record squat, beating my old one by 2.5 kg.
New state record DL by 7.5kg, new state record total by 12.5kg
Squat - 190kg ~ Meet best
Bench - 115kg ~ Meet best
DL - 222.5kg ~ 2.5 kg all time PR
Total 527.5kg ~ 12.5 kg meet best
3rd attempts
