Cinema Thread, because movies is a stupid word

We have a Gaming Thread, a Cop Thread, some politics Thread, Boots, Pens, etc.

But what about cinema films? Moving pictures?

Just watched Wonder yesterday and 1.37 liters of tears rolled down my beautiful bronze facial cutis, moistening my fuzzy wiry black wispy beard, and invoking some sardonic mockery from my wife (she calls me "melted butter"). If you watch that film and can't relate with any of it, lock yourself in a cell because you are not a human being.

I’m avoiding that movie on purpose.

The Disaster Artist is one I’ll look for when it’s a rental/Netflix. I can’t be bothered to go to a theater nowadays. My house is nicer.

I'm going to see Star Wars on Monday. Last movie I went to see before that was Spider Man. I don't particularly enjoy going to the picture shows.

So this is full on discussion? Perhaps "spoilers" should be in the thread title if so.

Also, i tend to avoid films that require too much of me as a human being.
I get enough of that actually being a human being.

Ugh, I hate movies that make me cry. I cry too easily. I cried at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 last weekend.

I got a hot tip that my sister-in-law is getting us all Star Wars tickets, so that'll be next.

We read Wonder with my kids this past year. It was a really good book, but the trailers don't make it look like a good movie.

Has anyone seen Three Billboards? I was checking out what's in theaters the other day, and it was the only thing that looked good to me.

I told my wife I'd go see Star Wars on opening night. By that I mean that I wasn't paying attention to her while I was busy shitposting here and gave her a "yeah, sure" when she asked. Lesson probably not learned.

It's great! Very coen-esque so if you like their stuff definitely go see it.

Funny, while watching the trailer I thought it seemed a little Coen-ey. At the time I figured that was just because of the presence of Frances McDormand and Woody Harrelson.

And yeah, I love their stuff.

I read this book. Was stunned when i heard a movie was being made.
Sadly, i don't think it's ever actually happening -

I very rarely watch movies, but I enjoyed Dunkirk last summer. I specifically sought out a film screening to try to get the full experience, though I'm probably incapable of really appreciating the difference.

Cool. I didn't mean to imply above that I don't want to see it. I do. I just don't want to see it opening weekend ..due to...misanthropy.

Saw Sicario the other day. It's a profound, beautifully shot film disguised as a cartel thriller.

I see it Thursday...which means I can spoil it for you!

Only solution is not to view the boards between Friday and Tuesday.
