The price of whey seems to have skyrocketed in recent weeks. Have any of you tried pea protein? A 7-pound tub from NOW is just $50 on Amazon. I typically mix unflavored whey into my morning oatmeal with nuts and berries. I wonder if unflavored pea would work. I think I'll give it a try.

Everything is getting more expensive, whey, creatine, bars, plates..!

I managed to grab some good Black Friday deals though. €35 for 1 tub of 2kg whey (bought 4kg), and 1.2kg creatine for €74. Should last me a good while.

F#^€£
I just put in an order with the 50% DEAL code.
I might get another bag tomorrow and see if the 20% I got for a slower shipping rate stacks.

I did even worse. I placed an order last night at 7:57pm with the 50% off deal. At 8:00pm I received the email with the 55% off code.

£92 pre-discount for a 2.5kg bag of whey protein from MyProteinUK. WTAF? Seems they've now discontinued the 5kg bags too.

Last summer I was paying £45 for a 5kg bag. Crazy.

It's cheaper just to buy the 25g protein yoghurts from Lidls/ Aldis now.

The MyProtein 50% off price is more expensive per g Protein than the ON Gold Standard at Costco.

Not a brag or anything. Mostly just very annoyed with Myprotein's deceptive pricing.

@Allentown How much is your Costco whey? It’s like $70 here

What's the general consensus on soy based protein powder?

There's a brand doing 4kg/ 8.8lb tubs for £33 on Amazon.

Seemingly the amino acid profile isn't as great (less leucine per unit)...

$63.99 right now. Which is less than 120 servings of the MyProtein Impact. Which only has 19g of P.

And anyways, I was mostly pointing it out because that is the "50% OFF!" price from MyProtein. To be totally honest, fuck them any more. I'm not going to support a business that constantly changes their "prices" and just cuts it back down with assorted fake "sales" to bring it back to their normal actual everyday price.

I fucking hate them so much.

Even when they were still the best price around if you got a good code, i always did the math at checkout, and not rarely the actual discount would be less than their stated discount onsite.

Last time i bought anything from them was after they sent me a "Pesronalized" 55% discount code.
Sure enough it only came to 50% at checkout.

Finally decided to write to/message them, saying how many hundreds of dollars i had spent each year, etc...
The words "Bait and switch" were definitely included in my message.

Eventually they did send me a 55% off code that actually came to 55% off, and i bought come creatine.

Now their creatine is $110 a kilo.
Fuck outta here with that shit.

Yeah. I think I might be done too. A little peri-poop spreadsheetery leads me with this table of my biggest protein sources, with ON whey thrown in comparison. The results are not what you think…
I’m very budget-minded, so I might be maximizing pork loin freezer space for when it’s on sale.
SourceProtein grams /$1
$2/lb Chicken breast46
$3/lb Chicken breast30.67
Myprotein concentrate34.29
ON protein30
NF greek yogurt20.22
$2/lb Pork loin51
$3/lb Pork loin34
$3/lb Top round35.5
$4/lb Top round26.63

I was actually making a spreadsheet for this a couple days ago. Looking at walmart prices here in south Florida BLSL breasts and whole chicken are at $1.30 per 40g of protein, skin on thighs $1.14 and both 80/20 ground beef (5# tube) and pork loin (Smithfield) is $1.85. XL Eggs being $1.43.

ON Gold 10# from Amazon is $1.77/40p and Myprotein impact 200 servings is $2/40p not on sale.

lol the slower shipping discount isn't sent until 2 weeks after the initial order was placed, and it expires in a month. And it doesn't appear to stack with their usual "SHOP40" or "FUCKU40" codes.

I sure hate MyProtein, but my frugality is stronger than my pride.

Just out of curiosity, what've you been using previously?

Fucking awesome.

Thanks for this.

ETA: I ordered 55 pounds of protein for $343 shipped. That is by far the cheapest I've gotten it in a long time. Should be about enough to last a year.
