GlasgowJock wrote: Sat Nov 20, 2021 5:52 am With Black Friday coming up, I'm confident holding out for a 55-60% discount on MyProtein next weekend to stock up on goodies.
They have already done two of those, another one starting today, and briefly there was a 60%. They are still getting too expensive.
We probably have different tolerances/ expectations for what we consider to be 'too expensive' as I'm in the UK.

If I can get a 5kg bag of protein for £40-45 (typically ~60% off), it's a good day for me. Just waiting for some influencer (probably Eddie Hall) to fire up a 60% discount next week.
I am cheap. I don't like paying for things like protein powder at all, and definitely chafe at the idea of full price. It's $85 USD for 3.5lbs in Nicaragua where I am most of the time. Which is just something purchased in the US and shipped in with a massive import tax. I buy in the US and ship it to my inlaws' house, and stuff the bags in the luggage when I fly back. So it's not so much expectations as I am cheap. Protein Factory used to sell unflavoued whey isolate $19.95 for 5 pounds, being old enough to remember those prices doesn't help.

How well do the MP bag seals hold up? If I buy 11 lbs' worth, am I gonna need to transfer it into some big-ass container to avoid spoilage/clumping?
They close well enough.
I just close them, then fold them down and use a bog office clip.
But i also use a couple of wide top, screw top plastic tubs and fill those for actual use day to day.

Never have i ever...

had any clumping in the main bags.

lol

I drink a lot of chock full o nuts coffee from Costco and I like to reuse the containers for stuff
I have three in the cupboards with different color tape on them for my protein: that way I can have a choice without dominating the cabinets with multiple 11 pound bags.

I’m not psyched about paying $72 a bag, but here we are…

Bloody hell, went on the MYP website just to have a gander at the prices lately. They've increased a 5kg bag from £90.99 earlier this year (June) to £142.99 pre-discount

How the f*** can they justify a £50+ increase in the space of several months in the UK.

slickdeals.net coming through with another code

Three 2.2lb bags isolate for $32
My assumption is you can order multiples of three, but i'm not using this one, so haven't verified that.

Fwiw, set up a free account at slickdeals.net, and make a keyword alert for myprotein and get these sporadic one off codes in your email.
This is how i got 11lb bags for $45 order before last.

GOATVIP 60% off. Free shipping

11lb bag of concentrate still comes out to $63.99 with their price hikes.

In the recent past, $57 or so was my best normal discount.
I ordered up in late September or early Oct with 55% off and got it at $58 a bag.

In any case, this is now.

God they are c***s

Was going to get another bag of creatine, applied the code, was congratulated my order qualified for free shipping, then at checkout only $5.49 shipping was an option.

I'll wait till i have a larger order.
Just opened this bag anyway.

That's pretty sh***y of them. They should be sending you freebies for all the stuff you buy and business that you have sent their way.

Another way my Costco membership is gold. 5.5 lb bags of Optimum Nutrition whey for $49 or so.

Costco: for when I need new tires, 7 lbs of cereal, and dynamite.

They are bellends. Massively inflated the price of their whey recently and now they have the audacity to announce 'up to 80% off!!' today as if those who regularly buy from them didn't observe their ridiculous price hike prior to black Friday.

No kidding, £169 for a 5kg bag of isolate???????? They briefly had 60% off so grabbed 10kg at an okay price. God help anyone that actually ends up paying the full £169 for a bag of fucking whey.

Well it’s pretty much all over. I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

My myprotein order is being delivered by a courier called “skynet”.

The price of Creatine has apparently gone through the roof.

Looking at my Amazon history, it went from $20/kilo to $70. Bulk supplements, myprotein, dymatize, optimum nutrition…. No one’s selling it for cheap (as far as I can find).

I might have to go natty if this keeps up.

Not sure how it would work out now, but the last kilo i bought from MyProtein with a discount code came to about $30
"List" was about $50
Still well up from the $20 i was paying from bulk supplements with no code earlier.

It’s 70 a kg at my protein but frenzy35 gets you 35% off…
I’m still working through a kilo I bought years ago and never took.

At this point some post-workout like the BBM or Outwork that have creatine in them seem like a better value than before...

I see Body Fortress Whey Protein (Chocolate) selling for $17 for 2 pounds on Amazon (sold by AmazonFresh).

It contains a lot of stuff I don't want, but 2 servings has 400 kcal, 60 grams of protein, and 3 grams of creatine.
