Yeah, I've heard him before. I think maybe with barbell shrugged? Anyway, my sleep hygiene is as good as it can be. That's the first question the docs ask, lol!

KarlM wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2017 3:16 pmTo add to Wilhelm's post, back in Egypt Andy Baker said he prescribes 1 hr of 5 AM cardio to his clients who report insomnia. May be worth a try? Or in this case the cure may be worse than the disease...
I already wake up at 5:30! No way I'm going to take another hour away from pillow time, that's crazy.

For anyone who has been following along with my sleep issues, the REMfresh didn't work. I did go back and try ZMA again though, and it does actually appear to be reducing the number of times I'm awake a night. Been using it for 3-4 weeks, and after a week or so it's not uncommon to only wake up once now.

Squats w/ light wraps: 500x2, 500x2

Since I didn't get any leg pressing in last session. Not hard, just needed to do something.

I'm not sleeping well my self. A colleugue was harping on me getting lemon balm, which seems ok on examine.com. Then he sent me like 7 boxes of the stuff. Two bags of night seems to relax me some. Dunno about sleeping maybe someday.

Well I'm still recovering from being sick. Lost 9 lbs last week, down to 217 now. Missed last training session but refused to miss another so I got hyped up on caffeine and did the damn thing.

Deadlift: 555x1, 505x3, 505x3, 505x3
Bench: 355x1, 325x3, 325x3, 325x3
Squat: 565x1, 515x3

Despite being sick, deadlift and squat felt great. Feel like I'm in position to hit my meet goals. Bench has been feeling week lately and today was no exception. I'm not nearly as optimistic as I was about hitting my bench goal.

Re: Insomnia. Have you had a sleep study done? How is your sleep apnea?

Once I put the mask on, my lifelong insomnia problem seems to have calmed down quite a lot.

Thanks a heap, guys! I'm really excited about this first comp, even if it's only a gym comp.

Yes sir! Which 2 days aren't necessarily the same because of how my wife's schedule changes every week.

Yes, I had the study done. I have UARS (upper airway resistance syndrome), not apnea apparently.

The googles tell me that a CPAP machine is apparently still the treatment.

Nice lifting Cody! What kind of numbers are you shooting for at the meet?

I would like 635/405/635 - that would give me an elite total at 220 (1674 raw w/ wraps aka classic raw). That would be epic. Current PRs are ?/400/615. That weight loss has really affected how bench feels though. I'm trying to think positive but not sure I'll get there on bench.

Twice per week at that strength level is extremely impressive sir! I switched to 3 days per week about 2 months ago and I'm not seeing much different results compared to when I was 2x per 8 days... I'll give it a bit more time but I definitely miss the free time I had before! I saved the template you gave me awhile back... maybe I should be doing that hey? lol

Still sick.

Deadlift: 555x3 (@8), 500x3 (@lol), 500x3, 500x3
Bench: 365x2 (@10), 325x3 (@9.5), 325x3 (@7), 325x3 (@7)
Squat: 545x1, 585x1

Deadlift looking and feeling good. Bench is on the struggle bus: can't keep my groove consistent. Weight loss affects it more than the other lifts. Squat feels good, too. Plenty of gas there, just have to make sure depth is good on meet day. It was solid af today, but it's a bigger concern for me than the weight. You can't really feel depth with the wraps like you can with sleeves.
