I've been using REP's rubber-covered plates:
Time for more plates. Stick with REP, or is there a better way to go?

I have one pair of these. One. They are great. I should’ve bought more when the reseller I used to deal with had a bunch, but I didn’t have a lot to spend at the time.

Re: Favorite/Best Rubber-Covered Plates?
Thanks for the suggestion, @mgil.
Yeah, Ivanko is generally pretty good stuff and those aren't terribly more expensive than the REP rubber-coated plates.
Ivanko 45 lb.: $266, REP: $220
Ivanko 25 lb.: $142, REP: $150
Ivanko 5 lb.: $40, REP: $37
Heck, their 25 lb. plates are even cheaper.
I'd prefer grip plates, though. Particularly for the 25's and up.

Re: Favorite/Best Rubber-Covered Plates?
Understood on the grip plates for ease of use.
I will also say that the Ivanko plates did live a life in a commercial gym before I adopted them. They are still in pretty good shape.
I’ve also got 2 pair of rubberized grip plates that are a USA made brand. They are decent also. I’m going to the garage in a bit and I’ll take note and report back.
Update: brand is IGX.
Update 2: looks like that they only make the N-gon style grip plates now. Silly. Mine are circles! They look to be available on the used market.

Re: Favorite/Best Rubber-Covered Plates?
Researched the subject again last night. Came to the same conclusion I have every other time I did this: Stick with REP's rubber-coated plates.
Now to wait until they put them on seasonal sale.
My only negative for them is they don't relieve the sides where the grip areas are, so it can be difficult to get a grip on them, so to say. Other than that I've been pleased with them.
