Bit of a grim session. My body felt as heavy as a bag of bricks. Apparently John Cena popped in today, but I can't fathom why he's in my neck of the proverbial woods. Maybe he and Rick Astley are having a gettogether?

Dumbbell Arm-Blaster Curl: 4(12.5kgx13)

Judging by those cambered presses, I would agree.

Just when one thinks they're reaching the end of load progression for a particular exercise, RIR goes up a few digits. :? Not that I'm complaining since leg pressing is becoming almost as enjoyable as belt squatting for me.

Linear Leg Press: 5(180kgx12) @3RIR
Weighted Back Extension: 4(30kgx15)
Leg Extension: 4(84kgx15)
Lying Leg Curl: 4(40kgx15)
Hip Adduction: 3(85kgx15)
Hip Abduction: 3(50kgx15)
Seated Calf Raise: 3(60kgx15)
Ab Wheel: 15,15,15
Cable Side Bend: 3(12x12)

Been on a bit of a mini-cut which is brought me to reducing the load on a few things a smidgeon. Dumbbell Pressing always seems to take the biggest hit. On the flipside, I've dialed-in my cambered bench form to my liking (joints are stacked, no niggles nor irritations, stability, pause, and the stimulus is where I want it to be).

Cambered Bench Press: 5(80kgx12) @3RIR
Incline Dumbbell Press: 4(25kgx12)
Seated Machine Lateral Raise: 4(57kgx15)
Machine Dips: 4(77kgx15)
Pec Flyes: 4(57kgx15)
Tricep Pushdown: 4(27.5kgx15)
Rear Delt Flyes: 3(63kgx12)
Snatch-Grip Shrug: 3(80kgx12)

That’s exactly the kind of pause that I was trying to work out yesterday - legit but also brief enough to maybe still grab some stretch reflex, if that’s even possible.

Yeah I want to balance stopping in the lengthened position with committing to doing so for 12 reps per set, which is sometimes a daunting proposition when approaching failure.

Arm-Blaster Curls are by far the most difficult to get through during these particular sessions.

Hammer Strength Row: 5(85kgx12)
Assisted Neutral-Grip Pullup: 4(12)
Arm-Blaster Curl: 4(12.5kgx13)
Cybex Seated Row: 4(175lbx12)
Cable Curl: 4(5kgx15)
Hoist Shoulder Press: 3(9x15)
Rear Delt Flyes: 3(63kgx13)
Dumbbell Wrist Curl: 3(7.5kgx15)

The Hip Abduction/Adduction contraption was in perpetual use today so I felt...unwilling to sit and wait for it. Thus, I skipped them today. I'm fairly okay with that though considering I typically incur some stress to both adductors and abductors when I Belt Squat.

Belt Squat: 5(150kgx12)
Weighted Back Extension: 4(35kgx12)
Leg Extension: 4(86.3kgx15)
Lying Leg Curl: 4(45kgx15)
Seated Calf Raise: 3(62.5kgx15)
Ab Wheel: 15,15,15
Cable Side Bend: 3(12.5kgx15)

And just like that, dumbbell pressing feels strong again...suspiciously strong compared to the previous 4 sessions or so. Didn't spend a rep or two each set on cambered work knocking the bar against the flippin' safety hooks, so maybe my shoulder wasn't behaving as wonkily.

Incline Cambered Bench Press: 5(72.5kgx12)
Dumbbell Chest Press: 5(22.5kgx15)
Seated Machine Lateral Raise: 4(59.3kgx12)
Machine Dips: 4(84kgx15)
Tricep Pushdown: 4(30kgx15)
Rear Delt Flyes: 3(63kgx14)
Snatch-Grip Shrug: 3(80kgx15)

As long as I'm not intentionally (and proverbially) taking the piss with "effort", it's a win!

I'll need to be a bit more aggressive with loading on the pullover contraption.

Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown: 5(72kgx12)
Cybex Seated Row: 4(175lbx13)
Machine Preacher Curl: 4(30kgx15)
Machine Pullover: 4(47.5kgx15)
Freemotion Curl: 4(7.5kgx12)
Seated Hoist Press: 3(10x12)
Rear Delt Flyes: 3(23kgx15)
Dumbbell Wrist Curl: 3(10kgx8)

Hope everything’s ok.

I too had an emergency halfway through today, but it involved twenty minutes in the gym bathroom and was taken care of. I was ice cold after, though.

So I leave a spare house key for my townhouse in a very secure spot in my garden for if, for any reason, my siblings or parents opt to come by and I'm not there. My sister drove to get her car serviced (which is within walking distance of my house), so she wondered if she could work on her laptop at my place while she waited for them to do their thing rather than getting a taxi and then having to get a taxi back to fetch her car afterwards so I didn't see why not. Only, I got a text from her saying she couldn't find the spare key! So, I felt compelled to go both open for her with my keys, and to go check where my secure spare key was, which I found. At least, the worst case scenario was averted (my spare house key not being where I left it secured). I was also very much cold afterwards it too  Thankfully, I got through the compound exercises before I had that sprung up on me.

Best this session has felt in a fair while. I have to go on the road for over a week in May, and I've just about convinced myself that I'm bringing my cambered bar with me. :?

Machine Dips: 4(86kgx12)
Pec Flyes: 4(66.3kgx15)

Think I'm going to make a run with pullovers rather than a vertical pull after the hammer row for now. The ol' biceps perform much better this way later in the session.

Theme Song: The Price of Freedom (Takeharu Ishimoto)

Hammer Strength Row: 5(90kgx12)
Machine Pullover: 4(54.5kgx15)
Machine Preacher Curl: 4(31kgx15)
Cybex Seated Row: 4(175lbx15)
Freemotion Curl: 4(7.5kgx15)
Seated Hoist Press: 3(10x13)
Rear Delt Flyes: 3(27.5kgx12)
Dumbbell Wrist Curl: 3(10kgx10)
