That grip looks super small. I would have to shoot it to see if it felt ok.

She holds 5 rounds. My oldest son reloads. We have fired bullets ranging from 350 grains, all the way up to 700 grains. Yes, they hurt.

Nice. It looked like the cylinder was smaller, which is why I asked. Mine holds 5 as well. I've shot 350-450 grains. 700 loaded with extra powder really would have to kick! :-)

I wouldn't want to be standing beside you at the range. That muzzle brake must make that beast loud!

Since we're showing big magnum pistols, I have a bit of a funny story. We were doing a bear defense class at the range for work, and one of my co-workers brought his 460 magnum since we were supposed to practice with the guns we carry in bear country. He let one of our more inexperienced coworkers try it out. He shot once at the target, and as the recoil sent the gun barrel upwards he shot another hole through the roof of the gun club:) It happened so fast it sounded like a single shot. The hole in the roof is still there...

Yeah, it is pretty loud. :-) With the muzzle brake and rubberized grip, it isn't too bad on kick. Shuggs looks like it would kick more, but maybe it is pretty heavy. I almost got the 460 since is can also shoot 44 magnum rounds. But in the end I went with the 500. I need to learn how to reload to save some serious money though. And then I could try some 700 grain round and really scare myself with it. :-)

As you know it also shoots 45 long colt and 454 Casull. When my buddy would load for someone else to shoot he would start with long colt and go up in power from there. Each shot would get more powerful.

I'm not sure if the S&W cylinder is long enough to fit the 700 grain bullets.
I took a comparison pic for you. Left to Right: .45 ACP - 230 Gr. / .50 AE - 350 Gr. / .500 S&W Magnum - 700 Gr.

Yeah, it may not be long enough. For sure I've shot a 450 grain, but 700 is pretty insane. I know the X frame can do +P rounds, can yours handle +P+? I don't think the X frame is rated for +P+.

the barrel is on the bottom instead of the "top".

I'd image the kick comes straight back into your hand; instead of wanting to kick up and back.

weird how it still has a hammer, wonder how it works its way down to the bottom of the gun.

I was curious about all of this as well - I could look it up but maybe someone can tell us how this thing works and why it's awesome/sucks?
