I really, really like Trufuel. But I live in Southern Canada and we get countless dustings of 2-4" & only a few heavy storms So I don't actually use the snowblower often & don't mind the outrageous price of truefuel.
Awesome that your snowblower has held up so long. Terrible to hear about the stories you’ve had with the Tundra. Can believe it left you and your family stranded like that.

Well, heavy wet snow, and a lot of it.
Power outage, so first thing i'm up and have the generator running.
It's daytime, so that's nice.
Coffee now, then snowblowing.
So far this year it's been cold snow when there has been a lot, and small amounts of wintery mix.
Today would truly suck without a snowblower.
At least 8" and it's still coming down.
32f now, so coffee and then straight to it.

The timing of us getting tha Ariens was amazing.
My peak would have been in tatters if i had had to deal with this storm with shovels.
First heavy wet snow of the year, and a lot of it.
As it is, i'm ready for deadlifts tomorrow.

I live south of Whistler so we get lots of snow here some winters. This year is the most snow I've seen since I moved here almost 20 years ago. All heavy wet stuff
We normally hire out our snow clearing at work but waited too long this year and couldn't find anyone available (because so much snow has fallen). We bought a couple of big track drive snow blowers to clear a pathway around the plant while we waited to rent a skid steer. Within 20 minutes one of the operators sucked up a 3' piece of 3/8 threaded rod and wound it around the blower shaft about 4 times. Didn't shear the shear pins though. Took a while to get the rod out though as it was twisted like a cork screw.
Speaking of Chinese small engines, I bought a compactor with a Honda Clone engine. Totally impressed. I'm sure it was built at the same factory where Honda builds their engines in China. Started literally 1st pull. It looks identical to a Honda in every way except the name plate. It was cheap enough that it made more sense to purchase than to rent.

Too late. A couple of years ago, I parked the ol' 48" John Deere blower out back along the grove and traded up to a 8.5' Western plow. Putting it on a crew cab, long box, lifted diesel truck (tow mirrors extended) probably wasn't the smartest thing I've done, but it works. She smokes like a locomotive when you start her in the sub-zero mornings, but it's all worth it when I clear snow from the heated comfort in the cab, listening to the Fast & Furious 2 sound track that is stuck in the CD player.
