Gonna take my own advice and do a lot of LISS. The burpees will have to wait; sorry @augeleven.

I spent over a year only jog:walking for conditioning to get a good base of LISS, I get it.

Yeah. I’m also gonna try to get 150 minutes a week in to meet the physical activity guidelines.

Well, we’ll see anyway.

The guidelines are something like 150 minutes per week of brisk walking (or equivalent) or 75 minutes of jogging (or equivalent). That is pretty easy to achieve.

Oh, well then there you go. For some reason I thought it was 150 minutes of more vigorous activity. I still might try to aim for that for a bit to see how it goes. Reaching 75 minutes should be pretty easy to do in 2 sessions per week. ... Provided I do them, of course...

Will you be my sponsor when I inevitably fall off the conditioning wagon?

ETA I also plan to evaporate into paperwork right before the start of the third reel.

Why are you doing your conditioning on a wagon?

Unstable surfaces are all the rage in fitness nowadays, and I want to keep up with the Joneseses.

I have not been doing great trying to keep a 7500 step/day average. Not wearing my watch during a 5 day vacation, plus single digit weather has dropped me into the 6500s.

Housebound stepcount hack:
FAMILY DANCE PARTY!!!1!1!1
Bonus points if your kids like to dance. If not, maybe skip this one. We would throw one some kids bop, or maybe a dance tutorial, and take it 100% serious.
Haven’t full on tried this one in a bit, but it was a 2020 staple. Dancing like nobody’s watching taxed my conditioning reserves waaay more than it should have. Looks like I’ll be testing another benchmark today.

While strength and building muscle is my main interest, I want to feel physically young for as long as I can (38 now). There was a time my cardio was awful and felt like I wasn't physically caple of anything other than lifting a barbell. Being around powerlifters and other strength athletes as I have has made me not want to be like them.

I do hill sprints twice a week, battle ropes twice a week (intervals), and sit on the bike for 20-25 minutes 2-3 times a week. I also walk on average 25000 steps a day. My strength is still going up.

Being lean all year and doing a decent amount of cardio will limit my strength, but I'm okay with that.

I’m super jealous of your 25000 steps a day.
I’m a teacher, and I feel like I’m on my feet from 8 to 3 straight, but I don’t crack 20k without at least a 5 mile run.

ETA: yesterday was a real rest day. I didn’t leave the couch much and did the minimum chorin’.
5,584 steps

I just double checked. It's between 20000 and 25000 steps a day, not an average of 25000 steps.

I don't have a car now and walk everywhere. Getting to and from work is around 15000 steps together. I'm a PT and on my feet a lot of the day (I'm not someone who stands still for long). Then walk to the shops or to the park to get out in-between clients.
It soon adds up.

What is this, some sort of European utopia?!

Hitting 9-11,000 steps on weekends, which helps my average with the 5-6,000 step weekdays...

About 4hrs. When I broke my hand and couldn't do anything I had to keep myself occupied by walking. I started with 30.000 steps per day and got up to 65.000/day 3 weeks later. At that point my feet hurt so much I couldn't walk upright anymore without walking myself in trance beforehand. I dropped to about 40.000 at that point and now I'm down to 15k.

An update on my January burpee goals:
augeleven wrote: Sat Jan 01, 2022 12:02 pm For me January’s focus is burpees. I want to log at least 25 burpee sessions before February, I would like to get in 1000 burpees in January. The stretch goal is a 100 burpee time trial under 10 minutes. We’ll see…
Today was my 23rd Burpee workout. Most were EMOM workouts, with a couple of tabatas and a couple of max rep set workouts. I’ll definitely get it in a burpee workout tomorrow and Monday, so that box is checked. I have done 1295 burpees so far. I did a 100 rep time trial today, it took me 13:57. I sandbagged it a bit, I didn’t even decided to do the full 100 until 7 minutes in. I’m carrying pretty significant DOMS in my quads, which I’ve never felt. Going forward I’m going to try to push Burpees twice a week, one 10-15 minute low rep EMOM, and one workouts with max rep sets. February’s goal is to get to 25 consecutive reps.

My February conditioning challenge is going to be kettlebell swings. I have no base line, but maybe 100 unbroken swings? I also want to grease the groove with jumping lunges, because March will be leg blaster month.

This all sounds miserable. What weight kb are you thinking? I'm trying to imagine a weight that wouldn't be a pain after 30 reps and am having trouble.
