The clubs that closed put people's memberships on hold till reopening, so they lost some revenue. But on the whole I think their business model shouldn't have been too much affected. They make most of their money off of people who don't go to the gym. The $10-20 a month it costs be a member is cheap enough to where people frequently keep the membership and tell themselves they're going to go one of these days. And for many clubs cancelling a membership has to be done in person or by mail, which is enough of a barrier to keep a lot of people from bothering to cancel.
