I haven't been to the dentist in years. And I get two free dentist cleanings with my insurance. Who's the idiot now?

Dentistry is just a scam to steal your precious bodily fluids. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!
I'll have you know that I get paid top dollar to suck on the other end of that drool vacuum.

Have to go back to dentist today because she messed up repairing a permanent retainer. Ugh.

Watched Eddie Strongman for the third or fourth time yesterday. Thinking of Eddie describe Hafthor's strength as "mong power" is pretty funny, now that I've looked up what it actually means.

I'm feeling the love for Exodus Strength.

Getting key advice on a very specific aspect of one of my lifts from an experienced lifter, and seeing someone else getting great advice too.

I walked my dogs in a hailstorm the other day.

Does Exodus have a merit badge for that? #strenuouslife

That whole merit badge thing makes Brett McKay's otherwise excellent site look really immature. I don't know what he was thinking.

It's easy to make fun of, but I think it could be a success.

There are a lot of young men seeking authenticity and a more intense life out there these days.

I'm in sympathy with the voluntary hardship thing. The actual merit badges, not so much.

Rucking on paved trails and doing yard work are good activities, but I don’t know if they make things more authentic.

Getting people to go outside and interact with other people is certainly a positive thing. A person operating in isolation may tend to dysfunction. I think the intent of the site is good, but the method is silly. However, I can’t offer a better idea.

Immature? Maybe. Silly? Probably. Aaaaand... so? Do both of those apply to XBOX/Steam/Playstation/whatever achievements? Yes. Does that stop them from working as intended? No. Are there two many questions in this post? Probably.

Agreed.

Even the military, with ribbons, insignias, and decorations has been using a similar method of inspiration and recognition for eons, albeit for accomplishments significantly more important than chopping and stacking wood.

Thinking about it a bit more, it’s about that Maslow’s (sp?) hierarchy of needs.
