Re: Sup
This is the weather that makes me happiest in my home gym. Everything all open(er, it is a shack with visible daylight through the walls), leaves on the ground, 60 with low humidity. Trying to store up the happy memories for when it's 25 inside and out...

Re: Sup
In the ongoing saga of the generator, i finally just actually replaced the carb.
It was running fine, but during the last outage it reverted to only running on half choke.
Aside from some space constraints getting to things with the generator being blocked into place and the exhaust hard plumbed out the shed wall, the procedure went smoothly, and the genny is running as it should.
Had watched a youtube of a guy replacing one on pretty much the same model genny as mine, and the few tips i garnered from that helped.
Mostly how to remove the governor arm and spring w/o stretching the spring part.
$30 replacement carb, was almost exactly the same.
The new choke lever has a detent instead of a totally smooth swing like the old one.
Other than that, identical.
Well, the new fuel line and clips are much better than the originals.
I'll do the pre-winter oil change on another off day, aka another Tuesday.

Some of the TV shows on cable or satellite channels are offset by an hour because we don't sync with the rest of the country.
I always tell people the two best things about Arizona are: 1) No front license plates and 2) No Daylight Saving Time. Why would anyone like the sun to stay up an hour later in the summer anyway when it's 115F out.

Daylight Savings TIme was a silly idea when it was first invented, and has become sillier. My grandfather used to suggest it was the result of a bet between two drunken congressmen about the gullibility of the American people. It actually kills people every spring in car crashes and a one day 3% increase in heart attacks in excess of the decrease seen in the fall.

Re: Sup
Thank you both. Last night's session was great actually - those two top end DL triples were a rep PR. (Sad, I know.) I've had a few splitting headaches, a slight fever for a few hours last night (including while lifting, which I know was dumb as hell), and some nasty heart racing, which has scared me, but I haven't been super sick sick. That's been fortunate, because my business would have been a train wreck if I were incapacitated. I've basically tried to pretend its not happening and do what I'd do on any other day, including lifting, sans going outside anywhere of course. My wife on the other hand is really sick with all of the symptoms you've heard about, except shortness of breath thankfully. So it's like a really bad flu that also involves vomiting. She was slightly better today, I think, and I'm really hoping that if we get through the weekend she'll be on an upswing. (We were exposed last Friday. The story of how mainly involves our own stupidity, after months and months of being responsible.)

I grew up in California too and, living in various areas, experienced both the 1971 Sylmar quake and the Loma Prieta quake in 1989 (the one during the World Series). A 3.6 may be a big deal in Rhode Island but it's nothing. Those happen all the time in California.
Not a 3.6

Yeah absolutely it was nothing. It was just so damn unexpected. Yet very 2020...Culican wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 2:01 pmI grew up in California too and, living in various areas, experienced both the 1971 Sylmar quake and the Loma Prieta quake in 1989 (the one during the World Series). I remember one as a kid that was pretty big (mid 90s) that happened at like 4am. It was crazy but I did go right back to sleep (got in a ton of trouble with my freaked out parents...) I guess it was Northridge maybe? We were in Santa Barbara.

That was Northridge. I missed that one, lived in the Bay Area when it happened. Picture is the 1971 quake. Some of the same freeways collapsed again in the Northridge quake.Skander wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 2:23 pmYeah absolutely it was nothing. It was just so damn unexpected. Re: Sup
Oregon would get pretty decent shakes sometimes.
Not often enough that i ever got familiar enough to know what was going on when it was happening.
Grasping for understanding, my mind briefly pictured a front loader pushing on the house during one big tremor.
Then "Oh yeah..., earthquake."
