WSM 2021
The heats are out.

Loz has a breakdown. Not unbiased. Ortmayer has a good draw, he could do well depending on event selection for the heat. Shaw's been hanging out with Oberst too much, I think he may miss the final this year. Novikov has a good draw as well, IMO. I'm Team Travis, but Novikov looks good to repeat.

Re: WSM 2021
Because they're local and (I'm assuming) they (probably) see this as an opportunity to go more 'mainstream'... not for actual STRONGMAN ATHLETES, but for people who will see dumbass headlines like that, assume literally any of these guys are vegan, and get duped into trying out their weird engineered dirt burger...Hardartery wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 8:34 am I guess that means more of the guys will be bringing their own food than usual. Talk about a mismatch, why would a vegan place even offer to do this? None of us are their target audience, we just make fun of them.
Not knocking vegans but the post they (the fast food place) made is hilarious. They (the founders of fast food place) are 'no strangers to professional sports' because they were 'executives' in the NBA apparently, of which (they'll have you know) SOME OF THE PLAYERS ARE VEGAN! Apparently working on the management side of pro basketball of which they're may be a couple of plant based players makes you feel qualified to satisfy the nutritional needs of 300+ strongman athletes...
As far as the subscription thing I don't know for sure, but it would make sense as WSM is a TV show first and foremost and any content they give away ahead of time they're gonna want something for. Depends on the level of the content I suppose...

I could see like 1 time PPV type system. But I want to say it was $9 a month. For what? Foe how long?mouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 9:23 amBecause they're local and (I'm assuming) they (probably) see this as an opportunity to go more 'mainstream'... not for actual STRONGMAN ATHLETES, but for people who will see dumbass headlines like that, assume literally any of these guys are vegan, and get duped into trying out their weird engineered dirt burger...Hardartery wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 8:34 am I guess that means more of the guys will be bringing their own food than usual. Graham Hicks having to pull out of WSM '21 due to a groin injury. Gutting for him. Wonder who got called up in his place.

Peña would be a US alternate I would think, maybe. I have a feeling that a British alternate gets the call before anyone else, fair or not.mouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 5:14 amGabe Pena is the alternate unless I missed something...GlasgowJock wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 3:12 am Graham Hicks having to pull out of WSM '21 due to a groin injury. Re: WSM 2021
John Hansson was first to take a shot at the train pull, hearing he pulled on it for a full FAHVE sixty seconds without it budging an inch when they realized the brakes were engaged. Somehow they're blaming this on heat expansion? Anyway, they detached the head of the train and changed it to a push last minute... Hansson got to reattempt after everyone else went...
He won the event for his group anyway

Surprises. Novikov doesn't make the finals among other surprises.
