Going forward, will you get additional Covid 19 vaccinations after this year?

I will likely get another C19 vaccine (upgrade) at the beginning of each new flu season?

What if being a lizard person increased your total?
Is this a trick question? I think we all know the answer.

Besides, I sunburn easily, scales would fix that too, right?
Oly total for sure, but tank your PL total. Lizards being noted for their quick explosive power, but not their 1rm strength.

I just got my second dose today... When will I know if I'm becoming a lizard person, cause at this point in my career I'm pretty sure that's my only chance of ever breaking 250...

Sounds like you live in the USA. Must be nice.

I'm just gonna see how things go. Flu shots are not routine unless you're in a vulnerable subpopulation here in the UK, so I'm not accustomed to taking them every year, but I've no particular aversion to doing so.

I strongly believe in the public health guidelines around the flu and think it's good to get the flu shot every year, though if I'm honest there have been many years where I didn't get a flu shot just out of laziness.

So, I'm telling myself that I'll get a recurring covid shot at whatever frequency is advised, but it's very likely that I'll miss a few here and there if it truly does become an annual thing.

Well, the obvious answer is that you hide them in the frames of your aluminum fold up lawn chairs. So your spouse doesn't find them and ask awkward questions about the nickel slots at the casino.

BOOSTER UPDATE

#33

Post by mbasic » Fri Oct 01, 2021 6:28 am

How many of ya'll got your boosters already?

Here's a study showing the vaccine wanes substantially after 6 or 7 months.

https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101 ... l.pdf+html

And this is the most disturbing part:
The 56 (47?) people that were studied were .... wait for it ..... WAIT FOR IT....
SpoilerShow
...were "healthy" volunteers ...
If that last part was indeed true, oh my ... a vaccine that lost efficacy so quickly over 200 days, isn't going to work well at all, when instead, distributed over a population of chronically sick, obese, unhealthy, and aged recipients.
But being that term is getting thrown around these days all willy-nilly, I assume these were all average-joes/janes and 40% of them were obese and had some health complications from that....

I caved. Went and got a third Pfizer shot yesterday AND also got the souped-up adjuvanted flu vaccine for the superannuated like myself in the SAME arm. (Pharmacist said, "If it were me I would get both in the same arm so I only have one sore arm." I figured he's the expert.)

This morning my arm is sore but not unbearably so and it is very slightly red. I woke up a few hours ago feeling slightly sick like I was coming down with a fever. I blame the flu shot as the same thing happened last year when I had my first encounter with the souped-up shot. The sick feeling has gone away now (it also went away in few hours last year).

I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the whole booster thing now that I've had both of the Pfizer doses AND Covid. Seems like a waste of perfectly good vaccine to me. I'll get the flu shot though. They offer it at work, so it's super easy for me to get. And if I feel like taking a paid nap, I can always pretend to pass out when they give it to me.

I caved and went and got my booster after a month or two of procrastination (I've been eligible since they said it was ok for immune-compromised peeps).

Thought process:
1. I'm immune compromised (on biologic drug which puts me at medium immune compromised), but not THAT immune compromised (stats on my particular drug showed an average immune efficacy against infection at 70% instead of 94% after 2 shots - pre delta of course), so didn't seem like I needed to be in a huge hurry
2. The second shot gave me some fatigue for 2 weeks, then a flare of my auto immune disorder, so a month of prednisone after that
3. So I was stalling
4. But woke up last Sunday and said fuck it, might as well get another low risk exposure cause we're all gonna get exposed to Delta anyway and that probably send me into a major immune system flare if I got that shit
5. It's the sort of thing mbasic would discourage, which means it is the right course of action

I don't think that's fair, but I think/hope its friendly teasing.

Being immunocompromised? ... I'm not going to say anything one way or another WRT to that situation, probably get the booster ... esp. now going into winter in good timing.

Hmm

*multiples 36hrs feeling like shit after the last one, times 2x/yr booster, minus likelihood of covid in given time x probable length/severity of illness...*

Answer - Meh.

I've had it. Wouldn't describe it as "meh". Fucked up my lifting for 3 weeks or so. No other illness has ever done that.
