this is the most gross example of "specific strength" known to mankind

in terms of speed, range of motion, length of time, etc.

you think he just waits for Wheel's 15 seconds of ATP to burn-out ... and then just finishes him off?
(the 2nd one, I assume the offhand round).

Nope, Larry is just looking piss weak here. He prepared for months, this supermatch got tons of hype. Schoolboy didn't show a single sign of struggle, He probably didn't even feel Larry and just walked through him.

The top guys train with specific pulley systems and armwrestling handles. Hand, wrist, forearm, bicep and tricep strength. Larry is just a Powerlifter who has been doing sparring. His hand and wrist are non-existing.

Pulling John is a fantastic documentary about arm wrestling, focused on longtime world champion John Brzenk. Highly recommend.

If you ever see arm wrestlers experiment with grip stuff, they're just like rock climbers. They kill it from the get-go no matter how non jacked they are. There's a video where Juji invites an arm wrestler to try grip training and the arm wrestler does amazing stuff his first time using the equipment.

IIRC that was Devon Larratt, and if you have any interest in arm wrestling you should watch every video with him in it. He’s the Roddy Piper of arm wrestling.

And yeah, his training is the most DIY shit ever.

I love watching arm wrestling. It's just so funny how, in arm wrestling, the guy who looks the biggest, baddest, and strongest is not necessarily the best arm wrestler. Just pitting these two guys together seems like an absolute mismatch. In every single strength category, Larry is, by far, stronger.

I really enjoyed when they had $100 out to anybody who could beat Schoolboy. Especially cool was he was dressed like a nerdy schoolboy. He didn't lose the money. Here's the vid:

post this on the egypt forums.

i wanna hear all of the lessons learned from this such as

- larry is not strong because he didn't do his fahives / SSNLP
- there is no such thing as specific strength
- fahives > technique
