The best ever was the Review of the emergency bareboned cheap$ wall mounted squat rack thing ....

And he used it for bar storage in the end (after he was done reviewing for a squat rack)

Why can't you guys leave Coop alone?

*looks at the 3 power racks and thousands of pounds of plates currently in his gym, thinks about how no one has lifted with him since the pandemic began, briefly wonders how long he can say "I'd like to open a gym when the pandemic ends" before it's just straight up hoarding, goes back to shopping for gym equipment*

That makes a little more sense, I assumed YouTube was his gig.
Still seems kind of shitty to (I assume) take advantage of his "celebrity" to load up on a super high demand product. I haven't checked Rogue's inventory, but based on Instagram comments I rarely check I assume they are still selling out of everything in seconds because people need gear to keep lifting during a pandemic. As much as I think it would be cool to have some plates made in state I don't need them for my lifting so I'll let someone trying to set up a home gym take my place.

Seems that way to me. Get 2x45 for a review and unboxing. Hell go out and get a pair of every weight. But with the way demand has been, Coop very likely just prevented one person from getting to lift at least until the next weight release.

Again, Rogue might be sitting on inventory of 6shooters or something, I don't know. I'm just assuming they are sold out of every plate in every denomination like they have been for ~6mo.

they are continuing to sell out but doesn't seem like it's quite as instant as it was in the summer.

Come on, man. If someone can't set up a home gym because they couldn't order some novelty plates from Rogue, they aren't trying very hard.

Like I said, I haven't kept up with inventories, but plates, everywhere, used to sell out in seconds. Then a bunch of those being scalped for profit. People were having trouble getting equipment for a pretty long time.

Allentown wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 3:41 am He got 10x45s.
2xHundess.
2x35s.
2x25s.
And said, "I basically got the one's I would use".
For an unboxing?
added to that^

don't know if serious. but that's funny otherwise

1st off - those aren't really supposed to "novelty" plates are they?
They're one of the few made in America iron plates in existence.
I thought one of the angles on this was from an availability standpoint (not reliance on CHI-nah [/trump accent])
From a price point of view, aren't they as cheap as the other plane-jane iron plates?

2nd - The only thing they have in stock right now is:
- various colored change plates
- wagon wheels
- calibrated thin PL plates, KG and lbs.
- some fat bumpers, selection is sketchy.
- (lolz at "Military Spec bumper plates")

1. I'm serious. Are you? Since you want to get pedantic:
nov·el·ty
/ˈnävəltē/

noun
1.the quality of being new, original, or unusual.
2. If you're only looking at Rogue for equipment then you're not missing out on a home gym because Coop's Mustache bought up 5 pairs of plates.

Looks like plates are available these days.

So it's more like the people that buy 6 cases of a limited high demand beer. Like, no, no one NEEDS that beer, but now those people at the end of the line don't get any because you wanted to be the guy with 100+ bottles.

Ok, nevermind anything I said. Coop is the herpes of the home gym community.

Fuck that dude. He's the guy that buys 6 cases of limited beer exclusively so other people in line can't have any, then dumps a bunch out when he gets home.

I mean, besides cooking cornbread in cast iron plates (using the Rippetoe Recipe) and making jokes about throwing away 35lb Rogue plates when people struggle to get supply while wearing a SS hat that looks stupid, what's wrong with him?

its kind of funny (or more bothersome, or annoying) that he is a DYEL-looking-type also....

...and has a slight speech impediment.

... and gets a lot of terms and definitions wrong.

At least the reviews themselves of the equipment are OK.
Pictures; amount of detail; the camera he uses; lighting; and some of the behind scenes product-info he has or shares is all good.
I'll give him bonus points for all that.

I guess its nice to see a mildly-retarded-average-joe guy make it "big" in america. Gives me hope, lolz.

He's a guy who looks, sounds, and acts like he'd go out hurt 5 minutes into a game of touch football, but I'm mostly just jealous because he gets paid to play with gym equipment, and I pay to play with gym equipment.

If you don't look at Coop's reviews as anything more than unboxing videos they're watchable. It seems like most of the true stupidity happens on Instagram, which I try to avoid.

Look at this thing you want that I got a bunch of purely so you couldn't get any! Wow! I'm going to destroy it now, because angry people bring more views than happy people!
