Re: Deadlift help
Holy smokes your legs are long.
I'd say get your knees even with the inside of your elbows at the start, but i don't know if that even makes sense with your proportions
Paging @ChasingCurls69
I'm guessing here, because i can't see the bar, but it looks like the bar gets out in front of you on that single.
You want it right in close the whole pull.
In contact with your legs, really.
Forgive me if i'm mis-seeing that.

Re: Deadlift help
@Wilhelm has it right, the single looks forward And your knees start way in front of your elbows. The set of 5 looks better, and you start with the bar closer to the right position on reps 2-5.
Your hips will start a bit higher, and the bar a little closer, since you want your knees and forearms lined up in the start of your set up.

Re: Deadlift help
His legs seem of normal proportion to me.
Yes, the setup still applies to him. Though his back angle will end up flatter and his hip angle more closed.
A problem I ran into and what I see in your video is that it looks like it's quite uncomfortable to DL with the belt. It will probably become more uncomfortable as you set up with your hips higher up and further back, leaving less space between your hips and the belt. I end up with quite a bit of rounding in the back during work-sets and ultimately ditched it for Deadlifts outside of singles-stuff. That's probably also a reason for your knee hitting-problem. You kinda collapse your torso around the belt and drop your hips on the way down leaving the knees in the way of the bar. Push your hips back the way you pushed them forward on the way up.
I found this RDL tutorial extremely helpful with positioning once you are past the knees.

Re: Deadlift help
This isn't the vid i am thinking of, which talks more about the elbow position, and pushing the knees out, but it is really good set up info, and does show the correct elbow/knee position.
I'm not sure why i can't find the one i'm looking for.
Pretty sure it's from 2019.

Re: Deadlift help
Honestly with this level of feedback I have a feeling I'm going to crush 132.5 next week

Re: Deadlift help
If the belt messes with the set up, you could also look into a 3 inch belt for DL instead of the standard 4 inch.

I felt like my belt interefered at first, and for a while.ChasingCurls69 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 5:21 am If the belt messes with the set up, you could also look into a 3 inch belt for DL instead of the standard 4 inch.
But honestly i was even more of a newb at wearing a belt than at lifting at that point.
I was sure it would be worse when i got my 4" 13mm lever, but now it's a complete non issue.
fwiw, and not to say the 3" belt hasn't been a good solution for lots of people.
