#kickcancerinthedick reps/sets

Cycle 3

HB Paused Squat - 95kg 5*5
Tempo SBS - 75kg 6*4
Goblet Squat - 24kg 15*4

Sledding - 75kg *4 up and backs
Cable Flys - #5 10*4

Not bad for being off for 5 days...didn't think it was that long until I looked at my log book. Mustache Mayhem was a rousing success, even if I couldn't compete.

Fvcking Sled pushes really blow. I'm definitely not in aerobic shape these days.

@JohnHelton

It is a wonderful group of people. Additionally, the community includes all the remote coaching lifters as well. They come in from all over the country to train and compete with the homegrown talent during the course of a year. We had a couple of folks from California at Mayhem on Sunday.

I certainly wouldn't be where I am today without the support of everyone in our gym. It truly is my home away from home.

I had a gas taking photos. Not all the hundreds of shots were worth posting, but I got close to 100 on the 'gram.

If I have to do that job again, I'll do it better knowing what to look for. I missed a lot themes that could have been fleshed out nicely.

It was almost as much fun as competing...almost 😉

Cycle 3
Paused HiBar - 80kg 5*5
Tempo SBS - 70kg 6*4
Goblet Squat - 20kg 15*4
Chins - bw 8*4

I came down with a bug middle of last week that has cut the legs out from under me. Today was the first day back, and it was a struggle.

I had to keep repeating the mantra of training while being treated for cancer: do what you can, with what you have, on that particular day.

Still, it's very hard mentally to be giving up so much ground.

Radiation treatments start tomorrow: 28 days / 5+ weeks

Lord give me strength!

Cycle 3

Spoto Bench - 65kg 5*5
Close Grip Bench - 55kg 10*3
Tempo Hi Bar - 55kg 5*5
Dumbbell Incline Bench - 50lbs 10*4
Kroc Rows - 50lbs 10*4

Well, two days into radiation treatments...and it's kicking my ass already. I was not ready for this level of fatigue, HOLY SHIT.

Numbers mean nothing now. The mantra is #anyrepsaregoodreps

Cycle 3

RDLs - 120kg 8*3
Deficit Deads - 100kg 5*3
Press - 40kg 5*5
Wide Grip Larsen Bench - 60kg 6*4
Hammer Curls - 50lbs 10*4
LTE - 20kg 10*4

#anyrepsaregoodreps

It is a hellacious struggle at the moment, every set is like sprinting a 440 in .50 seconds...you want to fall over and puke when you're done.

My sister-in-law finished chemo a couple weeks ago. In a week she starts 6 weeks of radiation.

Tough sledding. Just hang in there.

Cycle 3

HB Paused - 90kg 5*5
Tempo SBS - 80kg 6*4
Goblet Squat - 24kg 15*4
Reverse Fly - #5 10*4
Cable Fly - 30lbs 10*4

Coming to grips with the fact that I'm gonna be feeling shitty for a while regardless of the weight on the bar. So sack up, and do more, do better.

GRRRRRR...

Cycle 3

Spoto Bench - 70kg 5*5
Close Grip Bench - 57.5kg 10*3
Tempo Hi Bar - 80kg 5*5
Dumbbell Bench - 50lbs 10*4
Kroc Rows - 80lbs 10*4

For not hitting up the pre workout, I got through this session nicely.

After watching just about everyone in my gym compete a few weekends ago, and seeing the last few athletes get ready for the Arnold or Collegiate Nationals, I've set a goal of stepping on the platform in late August. A local meet just got added to the calendar, and if I come out of these cancer treatments in reasonable condition, I want to get back on the platform. Coach agrees, and I'm excited! FUCK CANCER...hmmph!

I know that this is a little different than @Wilhelm's situation, but he just had an extended layoff from real training and is just now getting back into the full swing of it. You will be through the worst of it in no time.

Cycle 3

RDLs - 130kg 8*3
Deficit Deads - 120kg 5*3
Wide Grip Larsen Bench - 65kg 6*4
Press - 45kg 5*5

A weeks worth of accumulated fatigue from radiation treatments: 9 days down, 19 to go.

Took a while to get the train in motion, but once we did the lifts went well...the recovery period, well that sucked.

3/2/20

Cycle 4 #kickcancerinthedick reps/sets

LB Pin Squat - 100kg 5*5
Tempo LB - 80kg 3*10 90 seconds rest between sets
Tempo Goblets - 15kg 8*4
Belt Squats - 40kg 12*3
IYT - 10lbs 12*3

Gonna have low bar shoulders in 48 hours.

Never done pin squats before, they're fun.

Oh, radiation has started to wreak havoc on my intestinal tract...FML. Fortunately Imodium seems to work right now...

Cycle 4 #kickcancerinthedick reps/sets

Radiation day 12 of 28...

Close Grip - 60kg 5*5
Wide Grip - 70kg 5*5
Paused LB - 80kg 5*5
Pull Ups - bw 10*3
Standing IYT - 10lbs 12*3

I had to go to the Imodium prior to the session, my intestines are not happy. Add to that, I have low level nausea.

But it was a good session in spite of the bubble gut.

3//7/20

Cycle 4 #kickcancerinthedick reps/sets

Radiation day 14 of WHO THE FUCK KNOWS!!!

Beltless, Paused, Deficit Deads, with slow eccentric 120kg 4*5
Hip Thrusts - 70kg 10*4
Spoto Larsen - 75kg 5*5
Press - 50kg 3*3

A good session, even with getting hit with the trots after the first set of Deads.

So I received a kick in the balls Friday. I thought my treatment regimen called for a 28 day course of radiation. It turns out that, no no no, it's 45 FUCKING DAYS. I was too taken aback to ask what the fuck is going on while I was there, but I'll be a bit more on my game come Monday.

Hopefully it's just a miscommunication and not something more "serious"...fingers crossed.

3/9/20

Cycle 4 #kickcancerinthedick reps/sets

Radiation Day 15

Pin Squat - 105kg 5*5
Tempo LB - 85kg 3*10
Tempo Goblet Squat - 15kg 8*5
Belt Squat - 50kg 12*3

Hard morning of treatments, and intestinal distress.

I'm pushing as hard as I can...I wonder if I'm pushing too hard?

Fvck it, go hard or go home!
