I've had a left bicep issue for over a year now, and it's actually one of the main reasons I started to work in curls. It's been getting worse the last couple weeks and today was even bothering me while curling, which it hasn't done before. I'll have to take it day-by-day.

I don't know that barbell calf-raises are doing much as the ROM is so limited. I might need to try them with a Terribly Ordinary Block of Two-by-four and see if having a little decline makes a difference.

Squats for sets of 7 were pretty tiring and I didn't have much left for SGDL so I called them after the first set based on my radical idea of "don't grind yourself into dust, idiot!" Likewise, I got a little ambitious with my top single on bench so I only did two back-off sets to not overdo things.

I continue to struggle with Press. I also just weighed all of my plates and found the first pair of 45s that I use come in almost 2 lbs light each, which disproportionately hits my Press numbers. I've switched up the rotation so that my numbers are now real, but it's been a double-whammy for my press. But whatever, this is where I'm at so I'll just have to build up from here.

Tired arms on curls, so I just did some reps and didn't push very hard.

I switched out my 45s so this week's 300 lbs is actually about 3-4 lbs heavier than last week's '300'. Despite that, my RPE's on squat ran only about .5 higher than last week, so overall I'm pleased with my squat progress the last few weeks. It's a little early to say for sure, but I think moving to 7s on Hypertrophy day may be helping.

Didn't feel as strong on squat today, even accounting for the change in plates. Didn't want to push the first set as it felt heavy, and then dropped 10 lbs for the rest.

Ditto for bench. Intensity is probably a little too high right now so hopefully I'll adapt to this level in the next few weeks.

Didn't realize until I was finished that I mis-loaded SGDL, so I did 225 instead of 235.

All-in-all not a bad week considering most lifts were 4 lbs heavier, not to mention the nocebo effect of the same plate configuration being heavier.

Squat continues to do well. Not spectacular, but doing pretty good, considering the Platening. Made a 5 lb jump on everything except the final 4x5; they were still at about 74% so didn't see a need to grind them with this being my heaviest volume week.

I kind of like what I've been doing on Strength Day: work up to a single @ about 92%, then a set of 5 or two @ about 80%, then some back off sets.

Toying with the idea of repeating a Volume block instead of a 3-week Intensity block.

I also tweaked my right lower back and hip a little during warm-ups (common, recurring thing) so, all things considered, I decided to bail after one incomplete volume set of DL. Wasn't at my best today. Didn't feel particularly weak, despite failing my top bench single, but mostly just out of gas. Just tried to get some minimal amount of work in.

Not sure if I need a week off right now. I've been dealing with some non-fatigue factors: a little too much boozing this week, a little too little sleep, and a lower back tweak. So maybe a break is in order. Or maybe I just repeat week 1 of my Volume block and run another three weeks of Volume work, without the other nonsense. I'll see how I feel on Tuesday. But mostly, I was just out of gas today so I don't want to read too much into things.

I've been feeling on the edge of being over-fatigued. I've decided to run 2 Volume blocks back-to-back, and keep a close eye on each session (ie. today I only did a top single and 2x5 backoff to keep fatigue in check) as I think I've been overcooking things lately. I may need a legit deload week or a week off, but I'm trying to recover without doing that if I can and keep my momentum. Today was encouraging, so I'll just keep volume modest and add as I (hopefully) feel fresher. Overall, my e1RM is holding up fairly well, which is a good sign.

Felt pretty good today, so I pushed my heavy DL single. All-time PR was a knee-knocking 371 at about 195 lbs, so a solid 365 @9 at 170 lbs felt pretty sweet.

Back tweak is better, but still not 100% so just trying to be careful and not re-injure/aggravate it.
