I know someone who is like this, but even when I, I mean he, jumps rope he still used an actual rope....
What I don't get is why he doesn't just do jumping jacks or mountain climbers or freaking jog in place. He actually mimics the hand movement as if he were jumping rope. I think that I'm going to start leaving jumping ropes laying around conspicuously next week.
You should use an invisible kettlebell, then juggle some invisible Indian clubs.

Other day there was a group of personal trainers in the LA Fitness I go to.

One of them gets on the incline bench, locks out a fairly light weight, sits up straight with the bar still locked out, stands up, sits back down, then leans back on the bench and racks it.

I finally saw how these crazy new movements get started.

Is this going to be the thread to complain about stupid globo gym stuff?

anyway, 2 very good ones.

Dude in next squat rack works up to 3 plates via quarter squat. I'm benching, get done with last set. He asks me if I can spot him because I look stong enough. I reluctantly agree to spot. He adds 1 more plate per side so now Im getting ready to back out of this nonsense. I ask him what exactly he wants me to do? He then drops this bomb: I'm doing negatives so you'll have to help me on the way up.

LOLOLOL. Thats when I finally had enough and backed out. He also had terrible B.O.

The 2nd story comes from a very jacked bro that actually is a nice guy but quarter squats in the mid 500s. He was noticably absent from the gym the last few months and I finally saw him again this week. He said he was out of the gym because he cracked his knee cap. The Doc naturally said it was from squatting but in this case could it actually be true? Can you crack your knee cap from quarter squatting 545 for reps once a week forever?

the guy who runs my gym has a boxing background so anyone who comes in for a PT session invariably does some sort of boxing as part of their training.
Today he has a guy hitting the heavy bag while he stands behind the bag and hits him with pool noodles

If all you have is a pool noodle, everything looks like a ... erm, what?

Did anyone notice the 'progression of pregnancy' stickers on the window in the background?

I would like to give a special shout out to the old man who felt the need to stick his genitals in my face today as I was getting my stuff out of the locker. I can totally appreciate how you couldn't wait 10 seconds to get your baby powder out of the locker.

That looks valid. Good training for getting in a fight with somebody who has a solid mid section and soft noodly arms SS/TM etc.

Gym fuckery that's actually kind of impressive. From a physics and strength standpoint.

Seems like he's just gonna die of something similar w/in a year though. Motorcycling w/o a helmet, bungee jumping w/o checking the knot, freezing to death after passing out drunk outdoors.

Seriously, who benches alone, w/o safeties, and with the plates clamped on?

Almost everyone in the gym? People have absolutely no concept of how dangerous bench press can be. I'll also add: people who squat with the safeties set way too low to be of any use, but still leave them on; people you use the smith machine without setting the safeties; and people who touch my equipment. All of them have a death wish.

I have two questions here:

1) Why is the reporter girl wearing a nipple-to-nipple ring chain connector under her dress?

2) Why did they choose to overlay the phrase "....is an experienced lifter..." with a round-backed straight-leg DL?

It is not uncommon when I'm benching and ask for a spot or offer to let someone else share the bench station that the dude mansplains to me that I should use collars when lifting. "For safety".

After dropping a 225-pound bar on my chest during a routine warmup set (yes, thumbs-around grip), I do my best not to ever bench without safeties...

This made me go back to watch the video, it's just the stitching in her dress. Which she obviously chose on purpose to wear on TV. She knows what she's selling!

I think I hurt myself rolling my eyes. "Mansplain" is overused, but this is fair use.
