If you keep spouting off anatomy here and in tersh's joint I might have to take a cold shower.

Two logs, one stone...*whispered* "Fibularis tertius muscle"

Block One, Week Two
Friday:
Conv DL 405x1(DOH) 455x1(hook) 405x5 (2D/3H)
BP 230x5,5,8
FS 235x4x3
Pull-ups BWx15

Then shot a basketball around for about 25 minutes. No pain in the wrist (shooting hand) was a win.

Block One, Week Three
Tuesday:
HBBS 245x6x3
OHP 160x5x3
BB Rows 155x5,5,10
Chin-ups BWx16

Filmed squats from the side today and spent some time playing with my stance. ~14" between the heels and toes pointed pretty far out (maybe ~120° angle formed by the feet) felt like the sweet spot to stay as upright as my legs/torso will allow. Sitting back more than I have been to initiate the movement actually put me in a position to come out of the hole more vertically (a la Clarence Kennedy...kinda sorta).

Block One, Week Three
Saturday:
C+J 145x1x5
Sn 80x1x10 (60sec timer)
Ab W x 19
Wrist Work

Got the flu vaccine on Wednesday afternoon, and it pushed my shit in. Never had a reaction before, but apparently 3/4 strains are repeats from last year.

So, Thursday's workout was done this afternoon. Split jerk footwork was garbage.

Thanks, man. Sorry to hear your body overreacted, as well. At least we know our memory T-cells aren't lying down on the job.

Block One, Week Three
Sunday:
BW 205

FS 245x4x3
BP 235x5,5,7
RDL 295x5 (DOH)
Pull-ups BWx15

Not particularly energetic today, but the weights moved well.

In addition to tucking my elbows, I tried to twist the bar in my hands while benching (externally rotating radius/ulna) because I've had a touch of left anterior shoulder pain (biceps tendon?) doing the movement. Jury's still out.

Block One, Week Four, Day One
Wednesday:
BW: 205.0

Sn 100x1x5
C+J 120x1x10 (90sec timer)
Ab W x 20
Wrist Work

Working out in my garage today.

I tweaked one of my right adductor or hamstring muscles yesterday. Didn't have any pain with today's workout, but I was doing a twisting motion when receiving cleans that isn't usually there. Maybe related, or it could also just be laziness getting my right elbow up? Might potentially impact my squats tomorrow.

Block One, Week Four, Day Two
Thursday:
BW: 204.8

HBBS 255x6x3
OHP 162.5x5x3
BB Rows 165x5,5,10
Chin-ups BWx14
COND: 10min walk

Worked out at home.

Adductor tweak didn't bother me squatting, so I'll count that as a win. Press got a little easier each set, which means next week I'll fail to get a single set of fahve.

I'm pulling with the arms too early on cleans...and a few other wonky things. I also look like I'm wading through water doing these lifts.

Not sure how long you've been doing the lifts, but I think once you get more used to the movements they'll get faster. Unless you're a gifted athlete, I don't think they'll ever look faster, at least they haven't for me. But it looks like you're working a lot on the technique, which I think will serve you well.

Regarding the arm pull in the cleans: does look a bit early, might be that they weight is still light and once you have more pulling your arms straight it may not happen as much early. You definitely want some arm pull after full extension though to help you get under the bar.

Jerk's looking pretty solid.

I've been putzing around with the lifts for a bit over 2 years with maybe half that time lost to a wrist injury (first the left, and then more seriously on the right). I'm def not a gifted athlete, lol. The lifters who look faster all have impeccable timing and a very aggressive pull under. Maybe I'm blind, but if you hone in on just the bar speed on Ilya's cleans and ignore how fast he moves, they don't look much, if any, faster than what a moderately proficient lifter is doing - it's all about him moving quickly around the bar:

What I'm saying is there is hope for us. Or at least you. :)

Agree. And I'm going to incorporate more high hang cleans during warm-ups to try to improve this.
Jerk's looking pretty solid.
Thanks!

Another low energy session, but all the reps were there, and shoulder felt better on bench. Hit the hooks on bench on my last set, otherwise 7 might've been there.

Now, to study...

Good point about Ilya, that video is ridiculous, he's like lightning! I guess when you're moving that much weight you don't move it very far/fast, it moves you fast. :D

Unintentionally woke up at 5, so I just knocked this one out. I don't think I have enough pressing volume to drive up those movements. Lack of sleep and stress can be my #excuses too

Feet were moving slowly on jerks today.

Feel like my bar path and overall movement on snatches is improving, though.

Pretty clean snatch there, bro!

How are you finding the 70sbig programme? I've stopped it, myself. Found I didn't get very far doing the 5 singles EMOM... gonna probably work up to a top single and do doubles to back off or something. Was interested to see how you were finding it? Looks like you have progressed last few sessions

For the olympic lifts, I like it. I opted to do 10 singles for my "medium" EMOM lift for more volume/practice (I think that was the upper end of Lascek's recommendation). If I thought my wrist could tolerate more frequency, I'd probably do it, but as it stands, it feels like a solid, minimum-effective-dose kinda program to condition the joints, which is exactly what I need.

For the slow lifts, there's not enough volume to effectively drive presses up for me. I just double-checked your log, and I'd guess the same could be said for your squat since you're at 200kg for reps!

I'm planning to stick with it until grinds to a halt. I'll be doing 6-week blocks, then resetting to week 4 weights to start the next 6-week block, rinse and repeat.

FS 265x4x3

Hoping to stick around 202-3 bodyweight for the next week or two, then drop to a weekly average of 201. Goal is a steady 200 by Christmas, holiday meals be damned.

Rechecked my log from a couple weeks ago, and I should've done RDLs at 305 today. Whoops.
