4/7: I benched 200 and DLed 345. My son DLed 200 & benched 105.

Last night, my press did not go so well @ 167.5x3, then 155x5x2. Time to switch to some other program. Squat 310x5x3. Three wheels next time!
My son squatted 155x5,4,4 and pressed 90x5, 92.5x5,5.

4/11

Bench 205x5x3, DL 355x5 - both were pretty much all out efforts.

My son benched 110x5x3, and first DLed 205 (as always DOH), and then wanted to try more - with one hand supinated, easily pulled 225x5. His and my DLs are always with a reset between reps, so really more like 5 singles without rest.

A good way to spend 45 minutes and let off some steam.

Involuntary light day yesterday (after playing with my chainsaw & cutting up a tree, dang)
Press 1555x3 Squat 250x5x3

My son did a volume day on the press so he can get past the 95x5 barrier - so he did 75x8x3. Squat was 160x5x3 but depth was iffy on most reps so he'll repeat next time

Really, more of the same, steady slow progress, which is a big win at this point

Press 5s day - 45x5, 95x5, 135x3, 165x5x3.

I decided to try to cycle volume/intensity in 10 lb jups - in this cycle, 155x8ish, 165x5ish, 175x2-3ish, then add 2.5lb and start over. Light day every two cycles. Hope I'll get unstuck that way, and that bench still moving up a little will help also.

Squat 45x5, 135x5, 225x3, 320x5x3, up 5lb from last time.

My son's workout:
Press 45x5, 75x5, 90x5, 92.5x5, 95x4
Squat 165x5x3

Friday night:

Bench 212.5x5x3, DL 380x3 singles. Double BW, yay! Will have to start cycling intensity and volume on the DL.

My son benched 122.25 for 3,5,4 reps, but is struggling with depth, will repeat his weight. DL 245x3. Will repeat that also.

Quick bench night yesterday (skipped DL, it's getting heavy for me & I needed a break)

Bench 215x5x3 - getting down to the wire here, happy that LP is still happening, if slowly. Will try to milk if for all I can.

My son benched 122.25 for 4.5, 115x5,4 reps, with decent form.

Friday night - Press 157.5x8x2 - I was shot after two sets of 8 with the squat still coming up
Squat 330x5x3

My son pressed 95x4,5,3 & squatted 170x5x3 I think

Sunday night
Bench 217.5x5x3 sooo close to failing the last reps
DL 385x1, 365x1 is all I had. But I'll take the 5lb jump on the top single. Will reset and do more volume at lower weight next.

My son benched 120x5x3 and DLed 245x1, 235x2

Was is my computer or was this site available intermittently? Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for those who invest time and money maintaining this site!

Nothing major to report, currently squatting 340x5, pressing 185x3, benching 225x5 and DLing in the 375-285 range. Son is still lifting, too. Will post updates for the next workout!

So, still here, still lifting, just too lazy to update my log [sorry]. My son (17, 170-ish) is still lifting with me, and my daughter (14, 115lbs?) joined us 3 months ago also. She's become one strong young lady. I pity any boy who gets closer than she approves of.
I guess I'm the family personal trainer now - we lift every other night, occasionally skip a day because, life. Can't wait to get back to Judo, which they both do also.

Currently we're at

meself
Squat 405x3 (but depth is a bit iffy)
DL 405 singles, sometimes 410
Bench 225-230x5, 260 singles
Press 185x5, 207.5 singles

son
Squat 265x5x3 but we've reset to 225xwhatever due to doc's recommendation - possible hernia or strain
DL 265x6, reset to 225xwhatever, ditto
Bench 165x5
Press 135x5

daughter
Squat 135x3x5 (yes triples for the lady)
DL 207.5 - amazing how that is still LPing
Bench 85x3x5
Press 65x3x5

Anyway, more details to follow.

Unpaid indeed - but I have to say it's a nice family activity. I lift separately with each because, siblings. Which means we have to move at a decent pace and focus on the essentials only - which suits us fine. We all agree the lifting is not fun in itself, but hanging out and goofing off helps after a day on the computer for all of us - with all that virtual school bullshit

And so are you - steady wins the race, right - although for us (I'm 48 now) it's more the race against aging, if anything.

So a bit of a back story - my daughter wanted to join earlier, but she was only cleared by the doc three months ago. She had a pretty severe scoliosis which he was able to improve quite a bit. And I trust him because he used to squat 685 in competition and clearly knows what he is doing.
As for programing, within 6 weeks, her bench and press started to stall, so we moved to five sets of three, and now we're trying my old 8-5-3 program for all of us, to see if we can't get some of the lifts moving up again. She's also a runner, which is crap for lifting, but she enjoys it. And she needs to eat more.

Oddly, my press has totally stalled lower than it used to be - which I chalk up to a) age and b) not doing Judo ... I can't fix either, but well, who cares. Tried some dips last time but my shoulders said no bueno. Maybe occasional volume days will help.

Last night was
me:
Press 165x8, 155x8x2 - got a bit dizzy there
Squat 410x2 with fishy depth, will go back down in weight

daughter:
Press 55x8x3 (volume)
Skwatz 147.5x5x3

son:
Press
115x7x3
Skwatz 225x5x3 (keeping intensity lower)

Last night -

me:
bench 225x5x3 - haven't gone this heavy at volume in a long time. Moderately chuffed.
DL 365x12 in 2m 48s

daughter:
bench - doing a volume day, last time was 85x3x5, translated this to 65x8x3, but it was a tad too light, so she did an extra set for 65x8x4
DL 207.5x5 singles

son
bench 155x8x3
DL 225x12 (one big scary set)

Also, snow shoveling and sledding.

Bit of a shit day for the family all around, you know, life. Still, got some work done.

me
Press 185x3x2 (as a result of said shit day)
Skwatz 365x3, 405x2 (too high, but needed this anyway)

daughter
Press 65x3x3
Skwatz 150x3x2 new PR but low vol, see above

son
Press 120x7,6,7 - higher volume continues, up 5lb from last time
Skwatz 225x9x3 - no sign of the hernia-like symptoms in a while, will start going up slowly again
