Sweeeeeeet, dude.
That was my lifetime PR for like 15 years. Don’t do that lol.

This might be hubris, but based on how it moved relative to what I've been doing I think the problem is I'm a moron, not I need to get stronger. I'm hopeful that I can correct the 1st a lot easier than the 2nd. Albeit if someone asked me (in my hat as a sometimes fencing coach) which is harder to fix, it's def the moron part.
Excelllent work! Good work on getting the PR after the two smooth attempts!!5hout wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 10:39 am @Famendoza1981 Nicely done! Hell of a grind on that press.
240 Bench, tng. Lifetime PR. After a lot of feedback from people I have been tweaking my bench form, tightness, not being shit, pulling the bar apart and doing occasional overload work with slingshot so heavy benches don't feel so "ohh shit gonna dieeee". Workout felt really easy today on bench, stuff was flying off my chest so did 225 to see how it felt. 225 was a bit of a grinder to lockout but everything else was snappy. Tossed 235 on, repeated old lifetime PR with a smooth up all the way to lockout. 5 more on, got about 2/3rds of the way up and realized all I had to do was stay tight and push. 240 up. I don't remember when I hit 235, it might have been pre-kid, sooooo this feels good.
It’s probably not hubris. Quitting (temporarily) being a moron got me a four plate DL after being stuck forever, and being a moron absolutely kept me from a 300 lb bench last year (and maybe ever given my recent foray back into bodybuilding rep ranges, etc.). On the other hand my squat is just weak.5hout wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 3:24 pmThis might be hubris, but based on how it moved relative to what I've been doing I think the problem is I'm a moron, not I need to get stronger. Congratulations on getting the bench PR. I can relate to the good feeling of figuring something out form-wise that gets shit moving again.5hout wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 10:39 am @Famendoza1981 Nicely done! Hell of a grind on that press.

Huge fucking congratulations. Remember when I was reading your rehab log… what a comeback.mouse wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 4:24 am Well I can add the title of Central NY's Strongest Man 2022 to my resume...
Not exactly a dominating victory, and to be fair it almost slipped away from me on the last two events, but a win is a win and the books are gonna show I finally made it to the top of a podium...

Congratulations!!!! My take on your second paragraph: never qualify a win, always take it as face value.mouse wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 4:24 am Well I can add the title of Central NY's Strongest Man 2022 to my resume...
