....until a surprise strongman benefit competition. You haven’t touched a log in 6 months, your Best ever is 245 and it’s 240 for reps. You just don’t want to zero. What would you do.

....besides crying and praying.

ETA: I just did a grindy 215, but I think that’s mostly rust. Should be at 225 pretty quickly. Planning on logging three times per week, 2 lighter and one heavier.

Lots of strict pressing...

"Lighter" strict presses for 6-8's seem to have been good to me.

On your heavier sessions practice triples with leg drive if you don't complete suck at it like me...

Doing extra work with bands seems to help plus it’s a little kinder to my shoulders. I agree on the strict pressing as well. Now if my back and shoulder would cooperate. I don’t think a lot of people realize how much more of a beating events put on your body than barbell exercises. That, plus getting old = REALLY need to be smart about this.
