Depth check

Hi. Focussing on hitting depth after too many weeks without taking video. Haven't found a good spot to put my phone, so the angle is a bit low, but how does this look?

Looks about parallel to me.
Nice heavy rep regardless. Keep up the good work.

I have noticed when i wear my cutoff sweats, they make it harder for me to see the depth.
I can have my thighs on my calves, and it won't look the same as when i have my boxer briefs on.

I would still say this one is about parallel if i was required to give my best call.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say it's juuuuuuust a little bit high. Like a half an inch or something. I think it's just on the wrong side of parallel.

Can't really tell from the angle tbh. For me the best place to put the phone for a depth check or general form check for a squat is on a bench leaning against a water bottle right beside the rack. You can usually be have it pretty close and still get your whole body in the frame in portrait mode

This was from a bench -- does being closer make up for it being a bit below knee height? I thought I'd try commandeering a plyometric jump box next time.

Yeah, the rep is a shade high. About 1” from my eyeballs.

You’re starting the rep out with being bent over about 15 degrees, typical of heavy low bar. Because of that you’re going to have to work even harder with getting the knees out so that you can clear out room for the torso in order to hit depth easily.

Knowing this is a single at your limit, this isn’t a critique of your overall form, just something to be mindful of with that particular lift when it is indeed heavy.

Stripes on loose fitting pants make it harder to judge depth because your eyes focus on the stripe instead of your relative hip/near positions. The top of the stripe may be near your hip, but the knee part is usually hanging lower than your knee which creates an upward line from knee to hip which makes depth look higher than it might really be.

its probably good, but hard to tell with the weird perspective/angles.
