I’m thinking about dropping running for other cardio for a bit, letting my knee recuperate, then start my running with smaller intervals but faster. Back on the ole couch25k

Perhaps a good time to consider @mbasic’s idea of “cardio” by way of strenous ab / core work. Take your knees out of it completely. Considering it myself but not because anything hurts. I’m just fat and need to do something.

Treadmill give up
Right toe is not feeling the treadmill
Inclined walking
10 minutes max incline 5% (lame I know) 3mph with 30 pound pack. Couldn’t get my heart rate above 120 without going faster which was a toe no-go
Box steps for 5 minutes unweighted
Still not past 130bpm
Outside 1:1.5x8
1.6 miles in 18:30
Fastest interval 7:14 pace
Slowest interval 8:30 pace
Changing my running plan.
I’ve been pretty stagnant in the last year or so.
Long and slow doesn’t seem to be working.
Going forward I’m gonna run a hybrid couch25k program, but with progression based on keeping my run intervals comfortably under 8 minute mile pace. I can see myself doing this 3-4 times a week for 2 months, where I’ll either be bored if it or injured from it. It is definitely a novel stress on the ole ticker, so that’s good.
