No pressing today, hopefully tomorrow
Jog, 9:1
7 miles in 1:28:33
Two laps around the park. 3 minutes faster than the last time in november.
Bonus! Sister in law is on a protein kick. The first 20 minutes of our visit was a tour of all the protein enriched foods she bought.
I was on point diet wise yesterday, and looking to be good today. Yay!

I need someone like this. My girl just bought her kids enough Easter candy to keep an army hyper until next year.

Re: inAugelevation of the Yescebodome
Saturday I went to brothers and he recently got some weights, so I snuck away and did:
PED#20
Press, from a rack
125x2x2 weight felt light, could have been light
Today
PED#21
Press, from the floor
125x2,130x2@9ish?
After kidbed
Front Squats, belt n straps
185x5x3 and a set of 5 back squat for funsies
Bench
245x1@8
215x5x5
Goodmornings
150x10
180x8
200x8x2
—ss w/—
LTE
60x10
70x8
75x6x2
—Tri-set—
Lat PD
90x12
110x12x2
Air Squats
25x3
EZ curl
60x15,13,10
A bit over an hour
Front squats are totally limited by rack even with straps.
Back squats coming back soon.
I need to make some kind of leg retainer for Lat pd because 110 lifts me off the seat.
Gonna go to goblet squats next time.

Re: inAugelevation of the Yescebodome
I'm sorry, but I don't have any information on a place called "Yescebodome" in Yescibo, California. I tried searching for it online, but I couldn't find any results. It's possible that the place you're looking for is a new or lesser-known location, or it may be misspelled or have a different name. If you have any additional information, such as the correct name or nearby landmarks, I may be able to help you better.EggMcMuffin wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 3:25 am do you have directions to the yescebodome in Yescibo, California?

PED#22
Press, from the floor
115x1, 125x4
Jogmill, 14:1
2.4 miles in 30 minutes
Legs are dead. I’ll try again tonight
Later-mill
4 miles in 52 minutes
I’m guessing on distance. Treadmill was wonky today. I’d love to drop 2k on a new treadmill. But probably not gonna happen anytime soon

Re: inAugelevation of the Yescebodome
Good.
I recently saw a dude doing something interesting. He hit a set of curls, strict, and then continued the set by using slight knee bends and standing to keep the bar moving. I’ve for sure seen lots of guys continue a set of strict curls with some cheat reps. The difference was that these weren’t all over the place, doing whatever one has to do to get it up. Rather, he had this particular technique such that all of the cheat reps looked exactly the same, just as all of the strict reps had. Strictly cheating. His biceps were large.

Re: inAugelevation of the Yescebodome
My biceps aren’t large. I generally do strict curls, and that doesn’t help, but the curls were part of superset that Inwas trying work on my glycolytics. After a set of 25 squats, even light goblets, the curls became cardio. I kept them strict until I couldn’t, but even the hip drahve few at the end had a nice controlled eccentric. So here’s hoping.DCR wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 12:34 pmGood.

That bench program looks good. I’m trying to do this press thing until maybe mid May, and then barbell plans get weird with summer travel. But I’m totally spectating and might run it in september

Re: inAugelevation of the Yescebodome
Been there. I find curls with a barbell or EZ bar extremely taxing generally. I consider them a kinda sorta compound movement, with all the shit that has to be stabilized.augeleven wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 1:00 pm My biceps aren’t large. By then you’ll have data from Alek and me, which hopefully doesn’t involve getting crushed haha.

Re: inAugelevation of the Yescebodome
My biceps would probably be considered "Large" by many, I know my arms are currently north of 18" but I am sure less than 19". I have historically done sweet dick all form biceps, and on those occasions when I do actually do something it is a form of social injustice that they respond very well. It's like a white privilege but for biceps. My point is, I seriously do nothing to merit it 99% of the time.DCR wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 12:34 pmGood.

That disclaimer aside, the eccentric is probably significantly more important than the concentric for biceps hypertrophy so that little bump of energy at the bottom with a controlled descent afterwards is going to be magical for building some mass as opposed to being a form Nazi and concentrating on the eccentric. I also, personal opinion here, would put curls with a bar somewhere near the bottom of preferred biceps work and have discovered that I really like Cross Body Curls keeping the palms up towards the ceiling with a focus on keeping that pinkie turned up, regular DB curls would be in second place.

Yesterday
PED#27
Press, from the floor
115x1,125x2,130x2
Spent the day sleeping and eating. Lot of negativity
Today
PED#28
Press, from the floor
115x1,125x4
—ss w/—
Chin-ups
bw x1x5. Haven’t done any kind of pull-up in over a month. Easing back into these. Gonna start with 5 singles during my PED.
Life notes:
Yesterday was bad. Taking today to 1) not eat 6k calories and 2) hate-clean the house.
I’ve been listening to the new Metallica album nonstop, mostly in the background. I need to rethink how I listen to music. I’m always looking for something specific in what I’m listening to. Pre-internet I would just listen to an album over and over and over again. I think I hated Kill em All the first couple of times I heard it, and it might now be my favorite ‘tallica album.

I have a soft spot for Ride The Lightning for weirdly sentimental reasons, but Kill 'Em All never gets old for me.
I never listen to the bass solo song, but the whole album has a dumb-fun kind of energy that they seemed to leave to the wayside as they matured.
It's fun to lift to!
