Big forearms are the fucking coolest. It is rare that I read someone’s log and envy them. This is one of those times.

Oh I believe auggie does have big forearms; I also believe he has body dysmorphia. I've got it pretty bad myself. No matter how my physique looks, I think I'm a skinny 130 beanpole at 6 feet tall.

I have found temporary relief from the dysmorphia in candid photos.

I help out with some events at my wife’s gym. And those people all take and post lots of photos. I’ll see myself from an angle I’m unaccustomed to and for a brief moment think “that guy’s pretty big” only to realize it’s me.

But full frontal in the bathroom mirror will always be a skinny fat dyel wannabe.

Here's a photo with me in on my fridge. I think I look pretty all right; it does help with the dysmorphia.

I think you were the one to say something about how looking at old photos of yourself, thinking that guy looks good, helped with being kind to your current self.

I'm assuming you're referring to the press (?)...

Dunno why, but I had the same experience for a while, back when I used to clean the bar from the floor.

Yeah man. To be fair I also incline benched first because the gym rack was taken. Also I’m using a standard bar not an Olympic bar at home. IDK, I’m just sick of a weak sauce press.
I might need a mother day of pressing for technique’s sake.

Treadmiles, 5:1
2.5 miles in 28:22
Instead of interval pyramids, I’m gonna treat one day as more of a 5 minute tempo interval. I need to sign up for a 5k this spring

Same experience. I have pressed more weight out of the rack because lolz at my clean; however, take a weight that I can both clean and press, and that weight goes up far easier after I’ve cleaned it than after stepping out of the rack.

Worked up to and failed 395. I was using my my old training belt, I’m exhausted and work stress is through the roof.

On the good news: while this was happening my wife it through her 3rd workout. She actually dragged me downstairs, as I was going to blow it off (something I don’t really do if I’m not super sick or traveling away from weights).

Her non-split:
SSB squat 3 sets of 5
incline bench 3 sets of 10
High handles TBDL 3 sets of 5
Lat pull-down 3 sets of 10

When she asks for more exercises we will introduce a B day.

At the Why:

Bench
215x6@im just going backwards
215x3x5
Superset with
Pull-ups x10,10,10,7,10

CGBP
165x10
175x5

Squat
Worked up to a beltless 285x1 in about 20 minutes
Time 40 minutes

Things are going badly. Eating is out of check. Blew off my workouts since a failed Thursday. Not sure what I’m going to do, but I’m toying with the idea of going back to 3 days full body and three days running.

Wife has four workouts in the logbook. Good on her.

203.4/200.7 eating is happening…

Not sure what I’m doing, technically this is GGBB 9.3, but maybe I call the last couple weeks a deload and start another block?

Treadmill 14:1
4.6 miles in 59 minutes. Felt better towards the middle, but I still don’t feel right.

If I do a new Block it might look like:

Sunday - rest
Monday - bench Squat and RDL
Tuesday - Run
Wednesday - Press, Deadlift, leg press
Thursday- Run
Friday - SSB squat, Good mornings and secondary bench CG or NG
Saturday - run
with rows, chins and other t3 sprinkled in to taste
Also maybe a weekend bro session for funsies

200.8/200.7

New program (I guess) still workshopping the log title…
Top set back off set kinda deal.

It’s called the Tex ”ish” Method. Built around two days at the Y in under 50 minutes and one day at home, plus three run days.

Monday is intensity for Squat and Bench, done with a top set and a back off set, and a follow up variation back off set. RDLs and DB bench time permitting
Wednesday is Press and deadlift day. Also leg press. Maybe dips.
Friday is squat and bench volume/cool bar variant/ take your time at home day.
Pull-ups superset with push when I can . Gonna dial back the fluff work for this block.

Gonna run this for 4-6 weeks and then go back to GGBB

At the Y

Press
95x5,105x5,115x4@9
100x4x4
—ss w/—
NGPU (wider) 10,10,10,8

DL
405x4@9
345x7
RDL
225x10 plenty in the tank

Leg Press
225x10,315x8,365x8,405x5

DB bench
60x10
70x8,5
Maybe 50 minutes

201.8/200.8

notGZCL w1d4

Treadmill
2.2 miles in 29 minutes
Still sick
Also did lateral raises 20s x15,13,10 last night and some pull-ups yesterday and today at work.
Just popped some Tylenol PM, hopefully I can sleep.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

202.1/200.9

Texish Method 1.5

SSB squat
60x5,150x5,200x5
240x1 then knee fail again.
200x5x4 knee pain on the 4th rep of the 3rd set

SSB Goodmornings
150x10,170x8x2

NGCBP
180x5x5
—ss w/—
Cable row
90x15x5

Got the little one in the gym while I lifted, so that’s a win

I think the knee pain is a combination fof extra sickness inflammation, being an idiot in the phys Ed class next door, and letting my knees go too far over my toe because my weight is getting out on my toes.

I’m going to drop weight and volume for a bit and see if that helps.

Sick, can’t sleep, and knee pain if a fucked up combo. I’m impressed you’re out of bed, let alone training!

Hope you recover asap.
