Protein Shakes

#1

Post by Fzt » Wed Nov 07, 2018 4:44 pm

Does anybody have any good suggestions for stuff to add to unflavored whey protein concentrate to make protein shakes with good macros? I'm not really a fan of the typical milkshake flavors, so I add some crystal light lemonade and some additional citric acid, but some variety would be nice.

PB Fit or 100% unsweetened cacao with some artificial sweetener (equal, sweet n low, stevia, whatever).

EDIT:

A little vanilla mixed in with Metamucil literally tastes like a creamsicle.

Yeah, Citrus Metamucil or the Walmart equivalent with some vanilla flavoring is damn good. You can add regular oatmeal to the shake also to boost the fiber.

I’ve done:

1 Tablespoon Metamucil
2 Tablespoons Unflavored Whey Isolate
1/2 Cup Oatmeal (raw, not instant)
1 Scoop ON Gold Standard Whey
8 Ounces Ice
12 Ounces Milk

Blend until smooth. I use a vitamix and let it go for several minutes so that the oatmeal gets ground up really well.

My favourite Recipe:

8oz water
1 can of tuna in water (add in water too)
Some salt and pepper.

Blend until smooth, enjoy hot or cold.

I think that was one of the first videos from them that really turned me off.

For OP;

I use unflavored WPI and add 1/2 T cocoa powder for my shakes.

I never drink my whey, I always eat it with a spoon with hot or cold breakfast cereal. Also milk, yogurt, nuts, fruit, etc.

I'm not sure why either, but this was the video that first made me think Rip was creepy.

Same for me, I remember assuming he was drunk. And then the second one was the interview with the skier Eva Twardokens. The whole interview he was bad, but I cringed when he shook her hand and when he was touching her shoulder. And the way he was sitting all up on her it was one of the creepiest things I've ever seen.
I guarantee though that he thought he was being some sort of smooth southern gentleman.

The tuna shake sounds disgusting...but why would a can of tuna give someone awful farts?

I like unflavored whey in chocolate milk, but orange Metamucil is good as well.
