Should have lifted yesterday. Didn’t.
Shoveled driveway and sidewalk. Lots of snow. Then I remembered I’m surrounded by old people who tolerate my clangin’ and bangin’ in my garage gym. (It’s possible they’re too deaf to hear me. Not sure.)
So I decided to shovel their driveways and sidewalks too. Felt fine while doing it. But afterword my lats were fried. Decided that were I to lift then it would be sub-optimal, I’d be better off waiting a day so that I could go harder.
Maybe this was rational. Or maybe it was rationalizing.

Garage was cold tonight. Probably should have done some backoff sets of squats. Didn’t.

It's a golden combination: GPP and neighborliness.

It used to be a thing for boxers to split wood for old people: they got a workout, the old people got warm houses, the general public got a see boxers as more than just killing machines, and everyone benefited.

Late start tonight. Finished up just before midnight! Ugghh! There’s some sort of tradeoff where the lost sleep hurts me more than the lifting session helps me. I don’t know what that point is or if I reached it.

Still, good times.

Sleep and nutrition were on point yesterday and last night. Thought it might help me out of this rut. I was wrong. These light weights still felt a little heavy.

Still, punched the ticket.

33,500 rep-lb session is one hell of a ticket to punch! Ruts suck but you're still doing well. Hope you work your way out.

Almost no lifting but the last post has the lurid, lascivious details of what was likely a long, arduous lifting session. Curious!

This week has been the worst. Unlike you, my running has fallen to the wayside. Hope to fix that tomorrow!

Workout cut especially short tonight. The power went out! When the sun set after my 5th set of bench, I called it. Too dark to navigate my tiny, cramped garage gym.
Power came back on late. Got my t-bar rows in between 12 and 12:30. Too tired to do the rest. Tomorrow!

You gotta get some torches in case this ever happens again. That would be some manly, medieval shit.

Dumbbell bench is getting easier. Incredible stretch from that exercise when you’ve only been barbell benching for the past decade.
