CS Lewis Chronicles of Narnia series was awesome. I remember reading them when I was a kid.

I second that, my dad read them aloud to me and my sisters when we were kids and we all loved it. He also read us some of the Redwall books by Brian Jacques which were quite good.

I completely forgot about these and second the recommendation hugely.

Thanks for the recommendation. That's what my wife suggested, too. Though I'm more familiar with that book series, I haven’t read them yet.

Thank you. I'll look into that series.

Squat / chin:
135 x 8 / BW x 4
[ 225 x 5 / BW x 4 ] x 3

Again, strict and slow. Didn't quite go to full extension. My shoulder is a little sore so that seems to be what done me in? Squats felt awful at first, but I coulda done more by the end.

Bench / DB curl:
135 x 10 / 30 (ea.) x 12
[ 145 x 10 / 30 (ea.) x 12 ] x 3

Bench was pretty narrow grip to get more stretch.

Treadmill:
40:00, 538 cal, 4.08 mi

I hope I can do something like that, walk for a bit then repeat 3 times to finish the run next weekend.

We're going to a beach house for the weekend. My in-laws rented it and we're going to visit. I'll try to do pushups and maybe run out there. We'll see.

For the first time, I planned to not work out on vacation.

For the millionth time, I did not work out on vacation. But this time there was no guilt!

Respect your industriousness. When I’m gonna be away just for a weekend, my usual strategy is to go absolutely apeshit at the gym the day before and then consider the weekend “extra recovery,” thereby justifying excessive amounts of sleep and food and also beer because beer is recovery fuel according to Belgian monks.

Conversely, if you do 10 pushups because training, you feel like a superhero.

The man speaks wisdom. Sadly, my apeshit session was marred by light recovery upper body fluff and weak ass squats that were compromised by running...

Probably good that there's no scale...

Pushups:
40 (last ~10 with a 3 year old on my back)
10 (with said 3 year old)
20 (3 year got distracted by garden equipment out on the porch)

My 8 year old did about 20 total with me.

Lmao! I can relate, having a 3 year old as well. I mostly gave up trying to do pushups or situps because I end up with both a 3 year old and a puppy fighting to get on top of me simultaneously. Been know to have 1 or the other try getting on my chest while benching too... :O

Surprisingly little damage...

Didn't do shit this morning. Very tired from the long drive yesterday. Such an old man...

Yeah it's good fun until they can't calm themselves down and wind up falling off your back and hitting the corner of the table. It was good :^)

Bench / DB curl:
135 x 12 / 30 (ea.) x 12
[ 185 x 12 / 30 (ea.) X 15 ] x 4

My pec/shoulder is fine now but my bicep feels a little worse than last week for some reason...

BB row / LTE:
[ 185 x 8 / 87 x 12 ] x 3

Trying to keep up with @DCR's sweet pump game.

Treadmill:
40:00, 543 cal, 4.12 mi

I definitely didn't put much effort into preparing for the run this weekend, so it will be interesting to see how it goes...

I love the concept of using supersets to really split the sleeves. Might start running a few. Yet another reason to give in to my recent urge to concentrate a lot more on DB work. It’s much easier in the commercial gym to run supersets when the bells are in one place and you can just pick em up and go.

Noodled the guitar for a bit. Not sure if I should do any running or just rest up before Saturday. Might do some exercise this afternoon.

Even though I like seeing smaller numbers (and posting funny gifs), I can't really tell...

I've been saying that I'm trying to lose weight since February, but my weight has gone as high as 206 or 207 after a weekend and I can lose a lot of water weight overnight... I think it's fair to say I've lost ~4 pounds since February (???). If I stayed consistent I think I could have lost 4 lbs in February alone. So, if I can keep my act together for 6-8 weeks I think that might be a better cause for celebration.
