Thu Jan 10th 2019 - Day 3 Week 8

Close Grip Bench Press: 90kg x 5, 100kg x 5, 110kg x 5,5, 107.5kg x 5,5, 105kg x 5,5

110 proved a little too heavy (RPE9) so I lowered to 107.5 and then to 105.

Mon Jan 14th 2019 - Day 1 Week 9

Squat: 100kg x 5, 130kg x 3, 150kg x 2, 160kg x 1
Paused CGBP: 90kg x 5, 100kg x 5,5,5,5,5

I had planned to do 160x2 for at least 2 and preferably 3-5 sets. My knees were sore and it felt heavy so I didn't finish it.

Here's a video of a 210kg x 2 set, 3rd out of 4.

I bought an SBD belt off one of my gym-mates. He's lost some weight and it was too big for him. I now have three belts but this one is by far the nicest! Wow, it feels good. Compared to other (high-quality) belts it just feels unworldly. Like an AMG Mercedes amongst Morris Marinas.

I most heartily recommend the SBD belt if you ever feel like yours needs an upgrade. Fairly expensive, but worth it.

Thank you Wilhelm.

I trained today with Bonica Brown, strongest woman on the planet. She's here to compete in a meet I am hosting as part of the Reykjavik International Games. An inspirational lifter.

Thu Jan 24th 2019 - Day 3 Week 1

Close Grip BP: 90kg x 5, 100kg x 5, 110kg x 5,4,4, 100kg x 4,4,4,4,4
Parallel Grip Chinup: 20kg x 5,5,5, BW x 8
Deadlift: 120kg x 3, 160kg x 3, 190kg x 3

I had to cut this short a bit.

Nice deads HBriem! And yes the SBD is the best belt out there!

Just curious, is Larry Wheels competing as well? I know he's in Iceland preparing for a strong man meet.

Hahaha.

No, Larry Wheels is not about to compete in an IPF tournament any time soon.

I don't think he'd be willing to comply with all the ... rules.

Wed Jan 30th 2019 - Day 1 Week 2

Paused Squat: 100kg x 5, 125kg x 5,5,5

I missed training Fri-Mon because of the Reykjavik International Games 2019 powerlifting segment where I was tournament director and spotter/loader.

I got plenty of GPP though, carrying plates, racks and other stuff for 10-12 hours a day.

Mon Feb 4th 2019 - Day 1 Week 3

Squat: 100kg x 5, 130kg x 3, 140kg x 3
Close Grip Bench Press: 90kg x 5, 100kg x 5, 110kg x 3,3,5

I had planned to go heavier in the squat and 140 moved fast and well (RPE7). However, afterwards my right knee felt stiff and sore (and still does) so I decided to cut squats short for now. Short workout as time was tight.

Thank you Wilhelm.

OK, I've been away for two weeks in Tenerife, Canary Islands for a bit of rest and recreation. I'm back a bit browner and fatter and ready to get back to it.

I managed two training sessions while there in the closest I've found to a gym, Minimal Fitness. It's hard to squat with the squishy floor, hard to deadlift with no chalk and a slick bar and hard to bench on a hard, narrow bench with a foot between hooks. Still, better than nothing.

Fri Feb 15th 2019

Squat: 80kg x 5, 100kg x 5, 120kg x 3,3,3
Deadlift: 140kg x 3, 160kg x 3, 180kg x 1
Close Grip Bench Press: 80kg x 5, 90kg x 5,5,5
Pulldown: 5 sets, various weights and reps

Thu Feb 21st 2019

Squat: 100kg x 5, 120kg x 3,3,3,3,3
Deadlift: 140kg x 3, 160kg x 3, 180kg x 3
Close Grip Bench Press: 80kg x 5, 90kg x 5, 100kg x 5,5,4
