Suddenly, it seems that only the top 25% of Instagram links in posts are showing.

Same here. Using Safari on iPad.

Just take your videos in portrait more. Then when you trim them, scroll down so all the important stuff is in the top of the frame. That should solve the problem.

I'm using Chrome and I see the entire IG post.

What OS are you using?

On my iPhone with Safari, I can see his face, but not the rest of his body.

Crazy. This just started for me today.

I just noticed that the screen capture I took has the line with the smiley at the bottom, cutting off the rest of the text, while in your post I see the comment through the last line with "what has your experience been?"

Something odd is going on.

I think it's an Instagram bug. The stills on my portrait videos are showing up with the top cropped full frame on the bottom when I view them on the Instagram web page. I'm using chrome. I can now see the entire posts above. Earlier, I could just see the top of some. [edit: I take that back. I can only see the tops. The tops are what show up on the bottom when I go to the IG web page. They messed something up.]

IG went through a major update over the last day or so.

It seems like IG was programmed by a high school kid. Amazing how basic it still is.

It seems to be working now.
