Citrulline Malate Storage

What's a carb? A car part? What's a macro? A type of camera lens?

Citrulline Malate Storage

#1

Post by omaniphil » Thu May 17, 2018 9:25 am

I have a 1kg bag of citrulline malate from BulkSupplements that I'm about halfway through. I've left it in the bag, which has a ziploc style seal on the top, but due to opening and closing every other day for the last few months the top doesn't seal very well anymore. We had a really humid day a few days ago, and now my entire bag of citrulline malate went from being powder like to brick like. I didn't realize it was so hydrophilic.

Does anybody have any experience with this? Would putting a dessicant packet do anything to turn it back into a powder or is it lost?

Maybe bake some at 250 to drive out moisture? Blender to re-powderize if necessary?

I will try that tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion. I might also look up to make sure the chemical composition doesn't change at that temperature.

Oops.

This was at 215F for about an hour in the oven. I guess the melting point is somewhere south of that.

Wow.

Was it a block when you put it in?

Start a patreon and I'll donate out of guilt for my horrible advice.

me too. I don't think CM does anything for me, or not that I can tell anyways, so I'm finding the humor in it easy to access.

It was lumpy. No worries. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep using it anyways. I just put it back in to let it get softer so I can pour it out of the pan.

I leave all my supplement bags on my counter, wide open. Any time something gets chunky I just squeeze the shit out of it until it breaks up, like kitty litter and piss.

My citrulline-malate from BulkSupplements doesn't do that, but my Beta Alanine does real bad. Still seems to work though.

Correction: Betaine. My betaine does that, not my beta alanine salts.

Have you tried screwing a screw top lid to the ceiling of your kitchen, placing a kids trampoline underneath, and bouncing in a spinning motion while holding the tub of powder above your head to screw it into the lid which is screwed to the ceiling?
