I hate this shit. I'll be in a meeting about "floor retention" with the plant manager and a fat woman from HR that are wondering why everyone is in a pissy mood and why the average turnover rate is 6 months. If they just said "this is mandatory overtime" at least it wouldn't be a bald faced lie like "well....this isn't mandatory, but if you don't elect to take overtime then we may have to reevaluate your position here....BUT WE REALLY APPRECIATE all your hard effort here and continue to be part of our family."

I really really hate this line the most.

Basically the management (save for a few) who are supposed to be 'all hands on deck' just wander around saying how much they appreciate our help, but there is little else as far as evidence to back that up.

If my truck ran on appreciation I'd be all set though.

Are you saying you don't alk nice to your truck just to be safe? I'm pretty sure that works on Chevys. Fords are hateful and will break just to spite you, but Chevys like some sweet talk. At least that was my approach when I had to get to work every day.

Elevated Deadlift 8s

Wed
Press 5s
Box Squat 8s
Close Grip Bench 10s

Fri
Deadlift 5s

Incline Bench (neutral)

13" Deadlift
315x10, 345x10, 365x10

If you're reading this log/block I'm doing inclines with my multigrip this go-round. Might account for the little dip in weight even though I'm using the same rep range. Hopefully it'll bounce back up. Kept them at 8's because I'd like train them a little heavier for 6's in the next block.

Press
205x5

Box Squat
nixed these warming up, my left hip was not feeling the inconsistent tension. Couldn't seem to find a groove so I'm gonna take the day off and start them out next week and see how it goes.

Close Grip Bench
185x10, 205x10, 225x10

Arms

Probably called my press weight early, but a little more conservative right now is OK by me.

Incline Bench
225x9, 215x8x2

13" Deadlift
365x10x2

You'd think with the unplanned day off (power outages and blizzard shit) squats would have felt a bit better but that wasn't the case so I cut the back off percentage a touch. Inclines felt pretty good even with no wraps and sleeves. High rep deads of any kind make me wanna barf.

Considering doing snatch grip deads in next weeks squat slot... we will see...

Arms

Haven't done snatch grip in a minute but they ended up feeling pretty good. Those are pretty conservative 8's and let's be honest my hips start not much higher than they would squatting anyway. Consider them in...

The CGB slot might be one of those where I hit a top set and then knock off ~10% because I'd like more volume but that second set was considerably harder by the last few reps than I wanted it to be...

230x8, 215x8x2

Squatting a bit more narrow helps my hip, apparently the unplanned day off last week manifested itself in benching feeling really good because it didn't feel nearly as good this week...

Pressing is done on my axle now so I can super set the SGDL... which is awful, but I operate under a real time crunch on Mon/Wed because of the kid's basketball practices

The edit no one asked for, man I wish I could gain weight like some of these SHW strongman guys. Between the super sets and it being above 10 degrees I ended up actually getting like a gross sweat going. Changed my shirt and had a pretty decent leftover chest pump going... made me realize that from the chest up I'm doing alright, and hell even from the belt line down isn't AWFUL but man everything in between is just gross.

Being fat would be so much more palatable if I could grow that large but firm looking gut... instead I just get gross mush lol...

Well, best of luck with that. No one can tell if it's firm or fat with a shirt on, they assume fat. It's where my body like to keep all of the fat, even when I get "Lean" that stomach pushes out. It doesn't matter how firm it is, it still looks like a gut either way. I am just coming to terms with it and accepting myself, cuz apparently body shaming is socially intolerable or something.

Deads were feeling so good I'm considering throwing singles into the next couple weeks to see how heavy I could go...

Speaking of, starting to consider what training will look like when I pull the trigger on going back to 4 days.

Squat
415x5, 365x5x3

Incline Bench
230x8, 215x8x3

13" Axle Deadlift
365x10x3

Things worth noting:

I am starting to remember why I hate squats.
I made an oopsie and forgot the inclines are neutral grip.
Thats why they were easier, so I bumped volume.
I superset'd the deads today.
Thats why they are on the axle.
Sitting on gym bleachers typing this is awful on my ass.
I am in TERRIBLE shape and wanted to die working at this speed.

Speaking of speed.

Send me money to invest in chains to I can make a return to my psuedo conjugate fucking off but not have to fuck with rubber bands...
