Re: GET STRONG 2: The Strongening - Ramblings of an Amateur Strongman
Lol she's getting back to normalish... usually she bounces back quick because she's busy with a newborn so she's not on her feet. This time she feels "lazy" if she's just resting so she's been going too hard doing yardwork and stuff... so her recovery has been somewhat extended. The downfalls of her being a hard ass I guess...

Press - 215x3x3
CGB - 295x4x4 (was supposed to be 285x4... I seriously can't math)
Nailed myself a super smooth strict beltless 200x1 on the way to today's press work... very pleased.

Press - 225x3x3
CGB - 290x4x3, 290x3, 290x4
Stupid bench was being weird today. I kept whacking the upright with the plates on my right. Happened three damn times, and cost me a damn rep on the 4th set... added in the fifth set as redemption, but I still managed to bounce the plates off lol.
I dunno, whatever... fix it later I guess.

Deadlift - 455x5x5 - deads are too damn grindy by the last set to be useful... coach was thinking of going to 5x4 but I convinced him to let me have a run at 6x4 instead. Sneaks in the volume but with less grind hopefully...
Squat - 385x5x3 - probably because of the deads but these felt like shiiiiiit. Got through them OK, and they moved decently enough, few short reps though... but not the worst squatting.
EMOM - BWx3/225x3x10 - forced myself not to be a baby and got through all 10 rounds... #voluntarydehydration

Didn't you have some knee issues recently? Looks like the squat is coming back nicely!mouse wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 4:42 pm 7/10/2018

Re: GET STRONG 2: The Strongening - Ramblings of an Amateur Strongman
Still do kinda... pretty sure I managed to jack up my meniscus or something in my right knee back in May. For like the month or so after I had a noticeable limp/favor of that leg. Before that I was dealing with some tendonitis in the same leg. The hobbling around is gone and the pain has mostly dissipated but I get like a general "tightness" in my quad/knee like an hour after squatting/pulling... I would still say it's trending in the right direction so I'm not worried...Stenson wrote: ↑Wed Jul 11, 2018 8:00 amDidn't you have some knee issues recently? Was there an acute thing that caused it or more of an overuse thing?mouse wrote: ↑Wed Jul 11, 2018 8:49 amStill do kinda... pretty sure I managed to jack up my meniscus or something in my right knee back in May. Re: GET STRONG 2: The Strongening - Ramblings of an Amateur Strongman
I think it started because my knees tend to move around a bit in the bottom, and got more aggravated as the intensity went up. Ignoring it and pushing into the mid-high 400's probably didn't do me any favors, but that was my choice lol.
As far as the whole meniscus/hobbling around thing goes I'm not sure HOW I did it but I'm convinced it happened on the first clean and press in May... I remember it being on fire warming up for the squat after that...
