Fuck, I should not have been lazy and trained yesterday as planned because this suuuucked...

I'm off for the next 2 weeks and just got an absolute steal on flooring so another room reno is coming up...

Been watching the flooring that matches the original room I did and it was at 2.79/sq ft, tried to get some but it was mostly out of stock so I held off...

Out of nowhere it's back in stock at *checks notes* 0.97/sq ft so I bought everything the had. Paid for 13 and they gave me a partial box on top so now I should have enough to do both remaining rooms hahaha...

Score...
Hell yeah!

I wish I shared this sentiment this morning but unfortunately I do not...

Officially pretty frustrated, I spend most of my days now hungry and miserable, which is (in the past) a pretty good indicator that I'm in a deficit... but this time the needle isn't moving, or in my case this morning, moves the wrong direction (again).

The devil on my shoulder is telling me to use these 2 weeks to just fucking crash diet...

Not being coy at all, our 2 year old decided he'd rather yell and cry from the hours of 12:30 am until probably 2:30 ish?

None of my kids have ever been good sleepers... and I'm looking at another 2-3 years of miserable sleep until things start looking up...

I'm told a little gin in the bottle works wonders.... but on a serious note that sucks. Sleep deprivation is not great.

It is not, but it is my life...

Eagle eyed readers will notice I haven't updated training. That's because I started this reno and as is customary it has now consumed my entire life.

Room is in rough shape... my children have not treated it well so there has been a lot of prep work. Dings are all patched up, most of the room is taped and the edges have been painted. More painting tomorrow. Started tearing off the baseboard moulding. Recased one window which was actually a pretty fun little project for my router. Turned out looking way better than I expected but needs some trim caulk and a little paint.

Theres a weird organizer in the closet I have to tear out and build some new shelves etc to better use the space.

Etc etc is all kind of tough with a kid who's still very much inhabiting the space...

I went from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm on some coffee, a Reign, one mcdouble and a yeti jug of water but the floor is in and the trim (minus the closet) is done...

Tomorrow I'll wrap up the closet, touch up some paint (had to do a hack mudjob from where I removed the baseboard heaters) and then I don't know where I go from here...

Probably new fan and the entertainment center... gonna do a hanging one with a French cleat... hopefully...

I'm sure I've ruined any short benefit buy eating all the leftover mac and cheese that was in the fridge but I didn't feel like cooking...

Side note... I ended up getting that Skil miter and the thing is tits. Probably not ass nice as some really high end saws but for $250 it's been excellent compared to my old HF cheapo...

I have a 60 tooth spyder blade on it at the moment and the trim work is very clean. Even used it to cheat some of the cope cuts... side side note... I'm not very good at coping.

I really need a nice table for it but for now I'm making do.

I'm impressed enough that I'm seriously considering getting their 10" table saw too. It has fold out legs which is unbelievably dope for a $300 saw...

Any saw that comes with folding legs and/or wheels is awesome. I'll die on that hill. If it works, it's a great tool, especially if it's inexpensive.
Cheat on the coping, cut a 45 and then just follow the line with the coping saw, it's way easier than tracing a line and trying to follow it. By which I mean cut it so that you are looking at the newly exposed wood from the cut, it's like a magical and easy to follow line. And some 60 grit sandpaper to touch up when you leave a little too much here and there.

Thats exactly what I did... I still suck hahaha

On the upside I'm getting better... the copes in the closet I'll probably be the best...

This is what caulk is for...

1/8/2023

Squat
315x6, 325x6, 335x6

Bench
245x8x3

Barbell Row
135x10, 145x10, 155x10

EZ Bar Curl
65x10x3

Filed under no real plan just needed a session to get the motor moving again. Possible thought dump in a minute... if the rows look stupid light they are. I almost never do a typical barbell row with a hang so I want them very strict, odds are I'll progress them by starting next session with the second set and repeat over the weeks... so next week is 145, 155, +, next week would be 155, W2+, + until they get to cheaty or something...

What caused you to add them in, versus whatever other options? They're one of my favorite movements.

I was originally gonna just do an LPish day and I got way too lazy to do the D in S/B/D? That's the honest answer hahaha...

This led to me blowing over twenty minutes of my workday on a ridiculously long Jamie Lewis piece on rowing. Thank you.

It didn’t involve too many gifs of people with fists in their asses, as compared to his usual.
