What's the view on a squat grip in which the thumb and index finger don't touch the bar:
I had thought this type grip was to be avoided, but a generally knowledgeable sort recommended it to keep wrists more neutral and elbows tighter to the body?

I wouldn't use it because it would allow my elbows to come up too much, maybe leading to thoracic flexion?

For me everything fell into place when I put my thumbs around the bar...
