That looks like a Pacific Northwest thing. Aren't you from not there?

I grew up there. 40+ years in Portland, earlier years in Salem.

Meh. Fast food. I agree 5 Guys is better than In and Get The Fuck Out.

But this place. Oh, this place:

Stopped here after taking a completely random exit for a dinner stop on a cross-country drive. I was so impressed by the burger and the quaint mountain town that I moved here 5 years later.

This is a simple clustering/agglomeration phenomenon, that you see with most forms of economic activity in urban centers. It's why Auto Rows exist, and why you see a number of fast food places close to each other, or bars, or what have you. It's generally a net-positive for both businesses and consumers, so long as the businesses involved are operating on a level-ish playing field.

The burger was perfectly fine, tasty to be sure, but nothing special. I found the double-double to be rather skimpy. Add another patty or two and it'd be worth going back. At least it was cheap.

5 Guys is more expensive, but waaaaaay better.

You've never been more correct.

@Manveer has no idea what a burger is supposed to taste like. He probably thinks hummus is mayonnaise or some shit.

If you're looking for better burgers, there is almost always a local pub or similar that is awesome. In RI, there is a place called Crazyburger that is pretty good. I think Manveer's hero, Guy Fiero, ate there once.

Five Guys is pretty damned consistent across locations and quite good depending on your mix. I get a triple Bacon Cheeseburger All the Way with Jalapenos. Fries are usually solid.

In-N-Out sucks, even the 4x4 or 3x3. At least the ones I've eaten at in Texas. Maybe that's just because Texas sucks?

SmashBurger is hit or miss. The patties are generally too thin, and as mentioned above, too salty. The fries suck.

Personally, I prefer a Wendy's triple to In-N-Out. Better overall flavor. Wendy's fries suck, but I don't eat fries all the time.

Has anyone ever tried one of the Bobby Flay Burger Palace locations? The one where I live has an off-day once in a while, but when it's good, it's my favorite burger place in the Cincinnati area.

Never went to Flay’s, but Krueger’s is probably my favorite in Cincinnati.

Manveer only eats Guy Fiero foods.

For real though, I'd never go out of my way for anything with Booby Flay's name attached.

I'm not a Flay fan myself and always figured it wasn't very good until some friends recommended it. In my opinion, though, the burgers at his restaurants are pretty legit.

I've never tried Krueger’s actually, Manveer - will have to try it. One big local draw around here I've never gotten is Terry's Turf Club. I've been there multiple times and have always found it to be over-priced, under-portioned and not that flavorful.

Terry’s turf club is meh. They used to have better bread. Stopped going there a long time ago.

@mgil wants to look like Guy Fieri.

Two Bacon McDoubles, large fries, Shamrock shake.

I can think worse ways to lose my dignity.
