Not until you post lifting and/or cats. Dogs are an acceptable, if not ideal, substitute.

point of order: your dog did what you told it to.

judgement: not a cat.

otoh, it does follow the ron swanson rule of 'dogs under 50 lbs are basically cats' so maybe not.

If you lack either cats or dogs, I understand babies and toddlers are ok too.

This little dude is OBSESSED with playing fetch with his ball or frisbee. He knows which is which by name. Other than that he behaves like a cat - ignores you 90% of the time unless he wants attention, doesn't come when you call him (unless you have a toy or treat), likes to sleep in elevated areas, etc...

Sounds like my son. Except for the sleeping part.

Lately i have been seeing my likes of other people's posts disappear.
Not the whole feed, so there will be a point where the heart/like icon remains, but after that point , they vanish for subsequent posts on refresh or closing and opening the window.
I'm doing IG on my PC, so i'm wondering if this happens to people not using another app to allow use with PC.

It has been intermittent so far, but i don't what happens to make it stop when it does.

No one's going to be able to help you here, Wilhelm, as you're the ONLY person in the world not using IG on a mobile device...

If you wait a few hours or until the next day will they show up again? I have heard that Instagram is doing this thing where they don't show you likes on your post in real time, but instead drip them out steadily over a longer time frame (to keep you addicted and glued to their advertising platform app for as long as possible). Sounds like this could be part of that whole scam...?

I think that's for likes you get from others, iirc.
And, at least initially, was just in Canada for the trial run..

It looks like if i log out and back in, it fixes it so my likes of other people's posts remain.
At least it has for the past few minutes.

Like @damufunman, says, i have no right to expect it to work for me without a neural link phone. :D

The big reason we don't have phones, is expense.
And i never go anywhere anyway, so it would just be an expensive toy with a smaller screen than the LCD tv i look at all day now.
We have a trac phone we activate for travel safety/preparedness.

*So far so good. The likes seem to be persisting since i logged out/in.

So I've been on Instagram for about 3 months or so. Just discovered Instagram story, so now I can see even more trite content from those I follow. That's another 30 minutes a day lost. I don't get it though. So you post stuff that just disappears? Whats the difference between that and the nature photos with your energy bar promo code that stay up forever?

I also really like the zoom in feature. That's pretty funny.

I usually share things via permanent post I think are either interesting, funny, or important to me. Almost never use "stories."

I THINK stories are the cooler thing to do? And are used more for people that want to update and be updated on everyone's lives moment to moment. I also think stories are consumed more like typical entertainment; i.e. used heavily by bloggers/internet personalities/want-to-be-famous people.

You can add lots of tacky looking stuff though with effects and hashtags and junk though.

Yeah that seems to be the use for stories, they're also more interactive in that they seem to encourage polls and stuff like that.

I don't look at them a lot of the time either, tbh. I'm not very good at the gramz.

The decision logic follows, thusly:

if drunk>>>>post story;
if sober>>>>post normal IG post.

This makes perfect sense to me now.
