Evening All.
I used to post over at the other place, never was a SS'er but I did like many of the folks that posted there and as they've mainly migrated here this seemed like the place to be. I should have come over a while back really but it's been a difficult few months what with the recurrence of a long-term health problem (and getting through the side effects of the Medicine used to treat it) along with getting a honker of a Virus just before Christmas that has only really gone away in the last couple of weeks.
As a bit of background I'll be 39 in a couple of weeks and would probably describe my lifting career as "promised yet unfufilled". I had my first "real" session on 16th September 1992 and have been trapped ever since.
Anyways, after feeling consistently better I've been back training for the past week-and-a-half...nothing strenuous at all, just getting used to lifting and moving again and thoroughly enjoying the process - over the past 25 years I've had to take a number of lengthy breaks that have led to significant detraining each time and whilst I still chafe at the necessity I must admit the process of restarting is not altogether unpleasureable - it's a little like falling in love all over again.
Anyone who ever read my Log before will know that I tend to favour a high-frequency and consistent (OK, Boring) approach but I will try and tart it up as and when I can I took yesterday (Fri 9th) off to help one of my Brothers move house...depending on how beaten up I was I was quite happy to take today off as needed but, whilst certainly feeling the efforts of the day I was pretty much fine this morning.
