I understand the value of pushups. I think they're superior to bench in some ways.
I understand the value of grippers.
But something about combining them seems miserable.

Really Fucking Solid. Felt pretty sore and stiff in the upper back and traps this morning and, due to Meds, was also pretty tired - I considered taking a day off here but I have an appt with my Consultant tomorrow that is a bit of an ass scheduling-wise so, I have a need to, I'll take one then.

I'll insert yesterday's session here a bit later, but a few general notes as I'm thinking about it...

- After Monday's session I had some soreness in my left hip...probably related to varying my stance on pulls out to about as wide as I can go and still push my hips through on Hacks - confirmed my belief that my strongest stance is the one I'm not training.

- Consistently feeling much brighter both in and out of the gym over the past couple of weeks...I'm happy enough to wallow in my own crapulence when things aren't going well and so I think I should take the time to enjoy the opposite end of the spectrum for once. :)

Took yesterday off as I felt good and limber...I did manage to slip on a wet tile and fall over like a five-year old, ended up going down quite awkwardly on one ankle but, due in a large part to some of the stretching I've been doing, I was able to just "land" and squish pain-free.

I had a bit of soreness in my right hip this morning (putting that down to a change in the weather - it's gone from mid 20's (mid 70's) to mid - single digits (about 40 degrees) and wet and my hips just don't like it) but this was a fine effort.

Let's keep this momentum rolling.

Little heavier than I'd meant to go with on the Hacks but I'll have to get used to it (even gradually) at some point...

In related news I'm eating pretty well (I'll have to find some scales) and I seem to be managing the side effects of my Meds quite well. I still need a whole bunch of sleep just to get through the day but the little things like my fingers swelling seems to be largely absent...heart rate / blood pressure seems to be in order and the slight tremors I was getting seem to be minimised too.

The Joyz continue...despite feeling slightly under par (see below) this was sweet.

As I put my head down for my afternoon nap yesterday (Life has determined I need to be a 39-yr old Toddler right now...I don't mind the sleep but it would be great if I could get someone to change my Bum :) ) I could tell I had a sore throat coming on and it developed fully overnight - I felt a bit of inflammation last week but it seemed to go away, it was now back in force - I generally get a sore throat / snotty nose at this point of the year so it is probably something to do with an allergenic response...it all lead to me feeling like I had a bit of a thick head here.

That I did my usual Wednesday morning bits then came home, ate a small meal and then when straight to sleep - WITH NO FUCK GIVEN - probably speaks more eloquently about how I felt than anything else I could say...as it was I then woke up, vomited, had a bath and when straight back to sleep for a couple of hours before feeling half decent again.

I'm thinking I'll be back to something like normal tomorrow but I probably won't push it if not.

Pretty chuffed with how this went.

I came into this feeling like a bag of crap - really quite considerably worse than yesterday - but unlike yesterday I was confident that I would be able to deliver a worthwhile effort objectively even if the subjective feelz sucked. I've definitely allowed myself to become a little dehydrated the past couple of days despite making efforts to avoid it...clearly blowing chunks yesterday didn't help but it really is surprising the amount of fluid can flow out the back of your throat.

Adding to the general feeling of meh was the fact that for the 2nd time in an embarrassingly short period I managed to fall flat on my ass - my lower back and kidney area is feeling sore and ill-used. Generally repeated falling over without Alcohol involvement would raise a few red flags for me but I'm happy that the circumstances are different enough that they are just flukes, slipping on a wet tile and then falling off my chair when I tried to scoot forward without realising that a towel I had draped over the back was trapped in the wheels (stupid powerful hamstrings). I did get to enjoy a slow - motion "Nooooo" moment, so that was pretty cool... :)

Two progressively awesome-er sessions (new 10's) but unfortunately the comparison stopped there...felt excellent on Friday and could have kept going on forever but today I thought it prudent to just cover the very basics...had to cut short the effort as I was concerned that the nausea I was feeling would make it difficult to take lunchtime Meds and keep them down properly...I've seemed to have aggravated my gimpy tooth and the whole left hand side of my face felt like it was on fire, so much so it was making me want to puke. :0 Over the years I've taken some fairly major physical trauma with little more than a grimace but as soon as my teeth or ears start to hurt...I'm going to try and be a bit more sensible and get it sorted forthwith.

Outside of that my Ole Running Injury is being a bit of a pain in the ass at the moment though it doesn't really come into play during lifting (in fact if anything I lift better to avoid aggravating it)...outside of that my throat and nose are definitely feeling better.

Absolute fucking cracker...felt slightly rough upon waking but I was able to kinda "decide" I was feeling OK enough and everything went well from there. I was still feeling a little bloated and dehydrated but my right knee felt OK, so whatevs.

I kinda lost my mind a little bit after yesterday's session - went to the store and bought a set of pliers and a bunch of pain - killers in proper expectation of removing my own tooth...happily I returned back to my senses just long enough to decide to take a couple of the tablets instead and see if the situation improved. :)
