ok, time to start lifting again.

Bench:

20 kg x 5 x 5
40 x 5
55 x 3
70 x 1
85 kg x 6 @ WTF!
85 kg x 6 @ 9
85 kg x 6 @ 9
85 kg x 6 @ 9.5.

I am so weak. The bar was moving really slowly, I had no power.

More bench:

75 kg x 8 x 3. This was a bit easier.

Overhead press:

20 kg x 5 x 2
30 x 5
40 x 3
47.5 x 1
50.5 kg x 6, 6, 5.

I was trying for 6 reps on that last set as well, but everything suddenly stopped after five reps. I was done for the day.

ok, so today was squat and deadlift day.

14.10.2017

Squat:

20 kg x 5 x 5
50 x 5
75 x 3
100 x 1
115 kg x 5 x 3

Those felt heavy, but it was probably @ 7.5 or something based on speed. No pain, so my hamstrings seems to be all right again. I'm glad.

Deads:

50 kg x 5
75 x 3
100 x 1
120 x 1
133 x 1
150 kg x 5 x 3

REP @ 8, more or less. Not so heavy, but it was difficult to get enough air into my lungs on the last rep on each set. Meaning I should probably do some cardio.

All in all, a pretty good day!

17.10.2017

OHP:

20 kg x 5 x 5
30 x 5
40 x 3
50 x 1
57 kg x 6 x 3

CGBP:

20 kg x 5 x 2
40 x 5
55 x 3
69 x 1
80 kg x 6 x 3

I'm still feeling like I have no energy or power at all, so that was enough for today. It's better than doing nothing, tho.

Could be something with ice cream?

Italian ice cream.

Now you made me want gelato. Yum.

Nice pressing BTW!

19.10.2017

Squat:

20 kg x 5 x 5
50 x 5
75 x 3
100 x 1
120 kg x 5 x 3 @ 8 or so.

This was all right.

Rack pull:

50 kg x 5
75 x 3
100 x 1
125 x 1
150 x 1
165 x 1
180 kg x 5 @ holy crap!

Heavy, but got them done.

156 kg x 5 x 2 @ not too bad.

But these felt just as heavy as the 180 kg set, somehow.

Barbell shrugs:

80 kg x 20 x 2.

I had planned 100 kg x 10 x 4, but I was tired after the rack pulls, so I decided try 80 kg instead. And ended up doing two sets of 20 reps each.

Pretty good day!

BBC week 40, bench day.

Bench:

20 kg x 5 x 5
40 x 5
55 x 3
69 x 1
80 x 1
90 kg x 5 x 3

That was all right, mostly. I'm almost back to where I was before I got ill.

Close grip bench:

75 kg x 8 x 3

Not too bad.

Then we were supposed to do 5 sets of a 3 way delt circuit, but I stopped after the first set. That bro stuff is just too boring.

How's the hamstring doing? Paused squats pretty good there, on the way back up!

Yeah, hamstring is good again, thanks for asking!

I used the paused part to try to concentrate on form at the bottom of the squat, it felt pretty good.

26.10.2017

Press day!

Overhead press:

20 kg x 5 x 5
30 x 5
40 x 3
50 x 1
60 kg x 5 x 3 @ 9

That was all right.

Rack bench:

20 kg x 5 x 2
40 x 5
55 x 3
69 x 1
82 kg x 0
70 kg x 5 x 5 @ 7.5

I had problems with figuring out how to do this. Ended up with a close grip rack bench variant.

More overhead press:

45 kg x 10 x 3
45 kg x 9 + 1
45 kg X 6 + 3 + 2

The first 3 sets was easy, then my arms fell off.

29.10.2017

BBC week 41 squat day.

SQ:

20 kg x 5 x 5
50 x 5
75 x 3
100 x 1
120 x 1
134.5 kg x 2 x 3

I could have put more weight on the bar on these, I guess.

More SQ:

100 kg x 10 x 3

Narrow stance, no belt. Not too bad.

31.10.2017

Bench:

20 kg x 5 x 5
40 x 5
55 x 3
70 x 1
85 x 1
100.5 kg x 1, 0.
95.7 kg x 1, 0.

That was supposed to be 100.5 kg x 2r x 3s.
But I just didn't have any power.

Deloaded the bar and did:

90 kg x 3 x 3

Barely made it. I just didn't have it today.

More bench:

80 kg x 6 x 4.

This wasn't too bad.

Barbell curls:

20 kg x 5
25 x 5
30 x 3
35 kg x 8 x 3.

So, things didn't go the way I wanted today.

But there is cold beer in the fridge. And life isn't so bad after all.

Press day.

OHP:

20 kg x 5 x 5
30 x 5
40 x 3
50 x 1
60 x 1
66.5 kg x 2, 2, 1, 0.

That was supposed to be 2r x 3s. Crap.

More OHP:

46.5 kg x 10 x 3.

That was all right.

LTE:

20 kg x 5 x 2
25 x 3
30 x 1
35 kg x 8, 8, 8, 6.

CGBP:

20 kg x 5 x 2
40 x 5
50 x 3
60 x 1
70 kg x 10 x 3.

All in all, a pretty good day.

.

Still, I am a bit surprised of how much strength I lost during the infection and the meds I was on a couple of weeks ago. I figure It might take up to 9 weeks to get back to where I was before I got sick. Maybe it has to do with being 59? Very annoying. Not being 59, but being so weak.

I didn't really follow the program today, since
I won't be able to lift for almost a week because of life getting in the way.
So instead I did:

Bench:

20 kg x 5 x 5
40 x 5
55 x 3
70 x 1
81 kg x 8 x 3

Close grip bench:

70 kg x 10 x 3

Press:

20 kg x 5 x 2
30 x 5
40 x 3
47.5 kg x 8 x 3

You're making some great progress, Jan. The incentive of pizza & beer is a nice motivating factor.
