They had a little more breading than I recall.

The first piece of chicken weighed 4.3 ounces.

The second one weighed exactly 4 ounces.

I'm not sure how much of the weight is the breading. If this was pure chicken we are looking at 32 grams per sandwich not counting the whatever might be in the bun. Subtract the breading and I bet we are still above the listed 29 grams.

I guess I'll have to get a Popeye's to test soon. . . . .
Doing the science!!! Thank you! Appreciated.

I would have just kept eating Popeye's and wondering in the back of my mind.

I'm considering buying an extra Popeye's and scraping all the crust off of it to see how much it weighs. But this would be a sin. I'll have to pray for forgiveness from Miss Childress.

Popeye's classic is 6oz. I tried to scrape the breading off, but I kept accidentally tearing off some of the chicken since it was so tender. so decided to not mess with it and eat it. My wife is making dinner, and I feel bad because I don't think I'll be hungry for dinner now. Oh well - it was worth it.

6 oz!!! It's a beast. I bet 2 of that is breading though.

No one can blame you for just giving up and eating the thing. If you had been successful, people would suspect that you were a cyborg replacement. No true human could resist.

Went to Popeyes. Orderes a Spicy Chicken sandwich with two filets rather than one.
Cashier was confused.
Tried to do it, but manager shut him down.

Not giving up.
I will try again.

Genius! Ya, don't be a quitter. Keep trying.

Did you get two and combine them? Was it too thick to eat that way?

Doesn't KFC have some chicken "sandwich" that doesn't even have a bun. It' just fried chicken.

Is the weight of the chicken going to tell you what you're trying to find out?

When I first compared the two sandwiches, I just assumed that the difference in protein had something to do with the "quality" of the chicken, i.e., where it's sourced from, whether or not the chickens were "juiced up", underfed, etc.

Probably not. The Popeye's must be pumped with juice. But a 50% difference is significant. And it just seems so much bigger. . . . Again, it's probably just on the juice.

I guess we'd have to burn it or something to test the protein content.

Or a chicken farm inspection.

Exactly. But the Russian's behind Popeye's success will likely submit fake samples. . . . There's no wining here. We'll have to just eat the damn sandwich and admit defeat.

Got the Popeye's sandwich with two filets.

Handling it was a challenge, but manageable.

Charged the 3.99 (normal price of sandwich) + 2.99 for the second filet.

With no sides and unsweetened iced tea I don't even think the macros are terrible.

Not bad. <$10 for roughly 60 grams of protein and a drink.

Harbor freight sent me an extra vice. . . . I'm going to return it tomorrow and go to Chick-Fil-A, which is across the street. I like to keep some variety in my diet.

ChikFilA has been much more accommodating when I've ordered double sandwiches in the past.

This is true.

But what they don't have is a BBQ Bacon Cheddar chicken sandwich (which Popeye's is taking too long to release)...
